OBAMA AND MY BEEF WITH LEFT WING MEDIA

In 2008, when the Democratic presidential primary was in full swing, a virtual unknown, the junior Senator from Illinois was positioned to win, to upset the well-financed, well-organized candidacy of Hillary Clinton. Who is this guy, Barack Hussein Obama? Where did he come from? What is his background? What about his personal history, his politics, his record, his family? And what would he do as president, the most powerful position in the world?

Well, we still don't know the answer to many of those questions, but we do know he turned out to be a huge failure as president. We know he was a Marxist, then a Socialist, a Muslim sympathizer, a hater of Israel, even a hater of the America we know and love, but we only have begun to learn this because of his actions as president. Would he have become president if we had known these things about him before his election? I don't think so.

Astonishingly, none of our journalists, with the exception of Sean Hannity and talk radio, even dared to investigate and let us know who he was. They didn't care. Just look at what they are doing now, full due diligence on the GOP candidates, dissecting ad nauseum in this robust campaign. Why not with Obama? Given Obama's unusual and complex personal background, much of it under seal, it's not too late to do what should have been done when he ran the first time.

STAY TUNED. In the days ahead, I am going to reveal so much about Obama that you need to know. There are several books out that reveal much truth, but Americans are not reading books as much as they are checking out blogs on the Internet. So I am prepared to inform and enlighten about this White House Occupier.

MITT ROMNEY: OUR BEST HOPE

Mitt Romney is our best hope for defeating Obama.

If Newt, the pugnacious cheater continues his harangue at Romney, the GOP will lose this election to the White House Occupier, and our chance to repair this nation is over. Really over.

Do we want a man who cheated on the first wife with a young staffer (who became his 2d wife) and then cheated on her with another young staffer (who became his 3rd wife to be our president?

Finally in his mid sixties, Newt gets religion, asks for forgiveness and all his dirty cheating is forgotten. Add to that: the third wife, the one with whom he cheated is now to become our First Lady? Yuk!

True, the standards for a First Lady are not what they used to be, but the "other woman," being accorded the respect of First Lady. I don't think so.

Then there's Newt's unpredictable behavior, virulent attack mode, and the countless people who know him and don't like him. This scenario just doesn't bode well for defeating Obama, and that has to be the driving force in this next election.

As for the likeability factor, frankly I have never disliked a president more than Obama, even that dismal, sanctimonious failure, Carter. What has happened to us? Why can't people like Romney? He has led an exemplary life. He has been a good husband, father, member of his community, successful....oh yeah, that's it. Successful. Now that is the crime for which he can't be liked.

This class warfare ranting has even taken hold with the GOP. Sad! Now members of the GOP can't like a man because he's rich and earned his money by being a smart businessman. What is that all about? Did the Obama mania of turning people against the achievers take hold? If it did, we are all in big trouble as a nation.

Sheridan, a recent widow, had celibate marriage for years, and though longing to find love again, she finds herself almost inept at making love, but an OB/GYN assures her all she needs is "a tune-up and a lube job." When she falls in love with a young lawyer and becomes pregnant, she must decide whether to marry and have their baby or terminate the pregnancy. Patti, endearing and whacky, battles her philandering ex-husband for custody of their daughter. Thrice divorced Meg, snarky and beautiful, learns to overcome the secret of her past. With laughter, some heartbreak, and a full awakening, they confront the unwelcome reality of our sexualized culture and the mistakes they made trying to be better wives and mothers. OBAMA WILL BE DEFEATED

I believe in the intrinsic goodness of the American people. Yes, they made a mistake voting for Obama because they didn't see what he was hiding behind the mask. But now they know he was an incompetent shell of a man, a puppet of Muslims, of George Soros, Nancy Pelosi, Donna Brazile, Harry Reid, and the flakes who make up the University faculties.

Obama's real biography is under seal. The media deliberately failed to scrutinize him, but now that he is running again, it's not too late to remove his mask. It will be up to the GOP to reveal his lies. They owe it to the American people to tell us the truth about Obama's real background.

OBAMA, THE PATHOLOGICAL LIAR

Obama's failure as president has been obfuscated by his lies up until recently. Now, even the lame stream media is calling him on his lies. Obama doesn't lie to cover a misdeed as Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon did. Obama lies because he has done it all his life and it is now embedded in his DNA. He lies to get his way. He lies to cover up his mistakes. He lies to make himself look good. He lies about others to elevate his own image. He lies about his faith, his associations, his mother, his father, and his wife. He lies to keep his background a secret.

He brings disrespect to the office and to the White House, debasing it with his overblown extravagance and all of it in bad taste. He and that wife of his view their life at our expense as their entitlement while his economy sinks the American people in debt.

He talks about creating jobs...a huge distortion because they are government jobs that cost money and produce no revenue. He talks about Obamacare as if it will provide better health care and lower cost when the opposite is true. He talks about being a friend of Israel, when he undermines them at every turn. He talks about being a Christian when his own book says he "will favor the Muslems if the political winds should change." He attended Madrassas in Indonesia as a Muslim and didn't come to Hawaii until he was 14 years old. He is not an American in his heart. He never learned to be a proud American with an understanding of our history nor does he have the love of country that we all have.

He is a charlatan, an impostor, and the biggest liar that has ever held the office of President of the United States.

DON'T LET OBAMA FOOL YOU AGAIN

Face it. Obama is not what you thought he was nor hoped he was. He was always a figment of your imagination, and he planned for it to be that way. He was in the Illinois Senate and voted present, not yea, nor nay, but present. He was non-descript as a U.S. Senator. He is strangely detached, awkward, uncomfortable without the teleprompters. His eyes and expression do not match his words. The words are coming from elsewhere, and they are calibrated to lure you into believing what you want to believe. Let's be frank. He's not one of us, and that has nothing to do with his race.

Being American was part of our collective rearing. We learned it at home, in school and from our peers. We pledged allegiance to our flag every morning beside our teachers. Our hands were on our hearts. We sang America, my country tis of thee... Religion was neither preached or taught but it was also never demeaned or hidden from sight. We celebrated the Fourth of July, Lincoln's birthday, Washington's birthday. We studied the explorers, the discovery of America, our history and we did it with the firm belief that we were part of a new world of exceptional people--our founders, our leaders, our communities. We celebrated America. Our flag was sacred. We revered the veterans who fought for our freedoms. We understood their sacrifice. We grew teary when our Star Spangled Banner was sung by patriots.

These experiences did not shape Obama. His mother was a political leftist in the extreme, an atheist, a woman who bore a child from a Black Muslim communist who was married to someone else, and then married another Muslim leftist. At the age of 6, Obama was ushered off to Indonesia where he attended school as a Muslim, recited the Quaran in Arabic, and learned how to be a good little Muslim boy. That education included the belief that all non-Muslims were infidels worthy of deception and ultimately death. Christians and Jews were the enemies. Obama's teens were spent living with maternal grandparents in Hawaii. There he met a family friend, a Communist and pedophile, his new mentor, Frank Marshall Davis.

Obama's connections to radical leftists is no longer a secret. He admits to attending socialist meetings and rallies. He worked with and supported ACORN and what is most important is his choice of close advisors. anti-American radical leftists. For 20 years he sat in Jeremiah Wright's church where black liberation theology was taught, where hatred was spewed forth against Whites, against Jews. against America.

Is it any wonder that Obama seeks a nation of redistribution where those who succeed through hard work and wise investment acumen are punished, where the fruits of their labors are confiscated and given to those who don't work hard, don't pay taxes, live off the dole. Hew wants to control our communication systems, our travel corridors,our education, and our private property. It's reminiscent of Zimbabwe and we know what happened to Zimbabwe when they took everything away from the white settlers and gave it to the black majority. The country became a disgusting failure.

And think about Obama's past. Oh, but you can't find it. It's all under seal. His college applications, his transcripts, his passport, and then there's that birth certificate that suddenly appeared but can't stand up to scrutiny by forgery experts.

Obama didn't marry Michele until he was about 30 but we have never heard from one woman who dated him. Amazing that not one woman came forth to say she used to date this man who is now President. And who is that Haman Shandu, the Pakistani, Muslim, gay man who was Obama's dear friend, the man Obama lived with when he attended Occidental College?

For the first time in our history, we are at the mercy of a man of mystery, a man who does not share American values, a man who wants to undo the America we know and love.

UNIONS ARE ABUSIVE AND DAMAGING OUR COUNTRY

MY THOUGHTS ON THE CURRENT SITUATION INVOLVING PUBLIC SECTOR UNIONS

In the last few generations, labor violence has been a one-way street, more or less sanctioned by most governments.

Organized Labor with the full support of the LEFT has led noisy, disruptive, intimidating, and very often-violent demonstrations without resistance from the other side.

Labor GOONS are very rarely if ever punished for their destruction and abuse.

For generations, organized Labor has had it all their own way; and what they demanded they got. But, NEVER more-so than in the Public Sector, where government salaries in comparison to those in the Private Sector are obscenely out of whack, as are the government workers'EXTREME perks and pensions.

In the Private Sector workers are not GUARANTEED a job for life, as are so many government workers, but, none more-so than teachers who cannot be fired or even laid-off because of TENURE.

YOU PAY THEIR SALARIES! So what do you think?

Do you have a job or business GUARANTEED for LIFE?

Are you earning as much as 30%-50% MORE than the national average for what you do?

Do you have mandated PAID days off and BANKABLE sick days?

Like teachers . . . does a “FULL YEAR’” of your work equal eight and a half months?

Will you retire with MORE pension money than most working families earn in salaries?

HEY, THIS IS A CIVIL WAR IN THE MAKING. We won't take any more inequities shoved down our throats and a President who is nothing more than an inexperienced demagogue who won't shut his mouth except when he should open it and speak against our enemies instead of pandering to them.

Obama is dividing America unlike anything since the Civil War. What we are seeing on the streets of Greece and the Middle East will be playing out on streets where we live.

Because of despicable fiscal and social mismanagement going all the way back to post WWII years to Jimmy Carter, with the only break coming from Ronald Reagan, it is now about to hit the fan. And we are the victims of incompetent leadership foisted upon us by a media that doesn't tell us the truth, that doesn't scrutinize candidates from the left.

We’ve allowed, excuse me . . . We’ve ENCOURAGED politicians to buy our votes with our own money with promises of Something-For-Nothing.

We’ve ENCOURAGED our politicians to allow Organized Labor to abuse the providers of jobs, to the point where the company owners moved-out or simply shut down.

SO YOU TELL ME – With the exception of a handful of products, what can we buy in our countries that are made in the USA?

When we dial most customer service lines, how many ring in North America compared to India?

When I hear Obama and the LEFT talk about creating and saving jobs, it isn’t in the Private Sector. The jobs they are either creating or saving are government jobs, which contribute NOTHING to the economy. They cost us big while they mismanage.

In TRUTH, what these jobs create, are nothing short of additional debt and long-term liabilities.

WE HAVE REACHED THE END OF THE ROAD: There's no more money! Did you get that? No more money!

Because of HORRIFIC government mismanagement, there are no real prospects TO CREATE REAL JOBS IN NORTH AMERICA.

So, as more and more people look for work that isn’t there, who will support and feed them and their families? Who will make their car payments, their mortgage or rent payments and all the other payments normal people have to meet?

As unemployed and underemployed consume less because they simply don’t have the money, and have maxed-out their credit, and governments tax businesses more, how long before the CLOSED SIGNS, or the bankruptcy notices on the shop windows become as prominent as the “GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE” signs?

George W Bush BEGGED Congress to develop as much DOMESTIC oil and gas resources as possible – To no avail. And now, when there's no time left, Obama puts a moratorium on drilling in the Gulf and Anwar, excavating natural gas or building nuclear power plants.

The LEFT told Bush that it will take up to TEN YEARS for American oil and gas to come online from new development, SO FORGET ABOUT IT. Well, it’s now MORE than 10 years and America is once again HOSTAGE to OPEC and world events beyond America’s control.

So, when we go to the pumps to fill-up, and the cost is over $4.00 per gallon US and climbing, where are we going to get that extra money to pay for all the other things we need and do, when so much more of our money is going for fuel to travel and heat our homes?

Even some Oil Executives are saying that the energy crunch that is coming our way is going to make the 1970’s Oil Crisis look like a walk in the park.

How are we going to pay for the ever-growing costs of food at grocery stores and at restaurants, if what we are taking home after taxes is less today than yesterday; that is if we are lucky enough to even have a job?

We’ve allowed the government to intrude into our private lives. We never said no to them telling us how to live, what to eat, and how to raise our own children.

We listen to the First Lady (Obama) tell us what we should or should not eat and feed our children because of obesity. And we say nothing in return.

How about telling Queen Obama to mind her own damned business, and ask her if she’s had the chance to take a look at her own ample ass in the mirror before she tells everyone else how to eat? And bear in mind, healthy food costs a lot more and will cost even more with inflation on the horizon.

HERE’S THE BOTTOM LINE:

We no longer want the government spending OUR money to tell us how to live.

The REAL WORKING PEOPLE have had enough. Those who want jobs and can’t get jobs have run out of patience, especially those who can no longer collect unemployment benefits.

The small to medium size company owners are at the end of their road. Not only are they not hiring, they are praying to hold onto what they have.

People with Private Sector Jobs are tapped-out. And after paying their taxes to support a bloated arrogant Public System, there’s literally nothing left for themselves and their families.

How long do you think the PRIVATE SECTOR will continue to watch the OBSCENELY BLOATED Public Sector take to the streets protesting against the people who pay their way?

How long do you think it will take private sector workers to say Screw You? Not long. They will push back.

When we see State Legislators who are beholden to unions run away and hide in neighboring States to avoid doing their jobs, you know you have to defeat them in the next election.

We are not only at war with Jihadists, we are at war with the left who can't get enough, want more hand-outs, more entitlements, more preference, more of our hard-earned money any way they can get it.

Don't be a fool. Vote these leftists out and let's rebuild America for those willing to sacrifice, to work hard, to obey the laws, and to take care of their families without taking from others to do it.

OBAMA, THE TALK MACHINE, AND THE EGYPT UPRISING

Talk, talk, talk. Obama talks. He has something to say about everything and can’t even wait to learn the facts. He’s everywhere. His face has been on Time Magazine 29 times. Are they crazy? Talk is his stock-in-trade.

Do you remember what he said at Cairo University? Probably not. Well, he did his usual: delivering the message of lofty platitudes about Democracy, and to the audience of people who have had no real democracy in their lives because so many of them are spending their energy finding ways of putting a roof over their heads and food on their tables. He said the Arab/Muslim world can and should have what we have, a place among successful nations of the world. He was into that hopey changey thing again. The Egyptian masses are poor, uneducated, religious fanatics and they live side by side with the educated, middle-class and privileged minority.

Remember Obama’s Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, said “words have consequences.” Hello! Yes they do. And now we can see these consequences—a massive uprising of the masses seeking what he told them they should have. These masses want Obama to speak again on their behalf. Not an unreasonable expectation considering that he went there and told them they deserve all that the privileged have.

Personally, I see Obama as one of the catalysts that inspired their uprising. Oh there you go again—blaming Obama for just giving good mouth and sending tingles up the legs of his fawning fans.

Egypt was a dried out forest. One match could set it ablaze. Inspiring these masses to act was reckless. And Obama should have known that. But he was so busy doing what he likes to do: speechifying before adoring audiences wherever he can find them. When the audience is living under autocratic rule and with a fervor of Islamic extremism growing each day among, what the heck did he expect? He didn’t expect anything but praise for his talk—his teleprompter words. He never does think that far ahead. He shoots his mouth off and then has to deny, retract or pretend what he said was misunderstood. Remember the Cambridge professor, Gates. Or all his talk about civility after he said if the opposition brings knives, he’ll bring guns, and he called the GOP the enemy. Those are just a few examples.

How can we, as a nation, be so darn stupid? Obama ignored the pleas of support from the freedom movement in Iran. And what did they want: some of his precious words to aid them in fighting one of the most despicable and oppressive regimes: Iran. He had nothing to say when that was a time for him to speak. What a jerk!

We are facing a tidal wave of Islamic extremism all over the region. It’s happening in Lebanon, Tunisia, Yemen and now Egypt. That’s what happened when we failed to give the Shah of Iran support. We got Ayatollah Khomeni and now Ahmadinijhad. In Egypt, we’ll probably get the Muslim Brotherhood.

Only a few oil rich states in the region are able to give to their people some comforts of life. In those countries, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the men, roam around buying trinkets, smoking and drinking sweet tea while their harem remains at home behind gates, bearing the babies and looking seductive in their Victoria’s secret undergarments they wear beneath the burkas.

Will Obama throw Mubarek under the bus? Maybe. He has already scolded him even though he has been a reliable ally for three decades. What happens in Egypt is so very important.

The anointed one and his Madam Secretary are telling the embattled Mubarek to not use force. What exactly should be done to quell the violence, the looting, the destruction? What would we do?

Obama, the word man, has spent us into near bankruptcy, repeatedly ignored the wishes of WE THE PEOPLE, but chastises Mubarek. That’s Chutzbah.

Just think if you were living in Israel, or, for that matter, even in Jordan. They are in for it. Gaza is Hamas. Lebanon is Hezbollah. Both are Iran. And then there’s Yemen. And Tunisia. No friends of our country can count on us as long as Obama sits on his White House throne.

Stability in Egypt is critical to Israel.

When the wave of violence spreads across the entire region, I hope we don’t have to depend on the Obama White House and his talk, talk, and more talk. Obama is another Jimmy Carter. Carter supported the Islamic extremists against the Shah. Now, we have another self-proclaimed Messiah who will probably do the same thing. He did it in Iran with, of all things, silence. We can almost hear the chants: Death to America. Death to Israel. Death to the big Satan and the little Satan.

Obama is a man on a mission to socialize this country, to diminish it vis a vis the rest of the world, especially the third world countries, the ones he lived in as youngster when he rigorously practiced Islam and attended those Madrassas. Obama is not a Muslim, but a Muslim sympathizer unable or unwilling to see that they are waging a war against the West especially the US and Israel.

Obama can never do for this country what a true American can do. Why do I cast him in the role of someone not a true American? Because I read his two books and realized that he does not embrace our values. He sat in Jeremiah Wright's Church of hate for 20 years. He has always affiliated with leftist radicals. He worships at the shrine of Alinsky and his RULES FOR RADICALS.

Obama does not have the experience you refer to. He has less experience than even some of the fringe Tea Party choices. And we can see his lack of experience in the way he governs. Oh yes, he is the best teleprompter reader we've ever seen. He can excite a young audience with his empty platitudes delivered in that glorious voice. He can turn on that smile at will. He can move with grace, but what he can't do is lead, govern, and take us out of this economic downturn. He doesn't understand the entreprenurial spirit of America. All of his political experience was short-lived and he never did anything noteworthy while serving in Illinois Assembly or in his two years of the U.S. Senate. He votes present. Is that presidential? I don't think so, but it accomplished his goal to be the blank slate that enabled the less informed to vote for him thinking he was one of them.

I hope these conservative members of Congress will not bend to the will of the left. While they are not compromising their principles, they must continuously remind those who brought them to their lofty positions of power why they are voting no.

Because Obama is shrewd, not really smart, but very shrewd, he will pound the airways with his message that the GOP is the party of no, so they have to remind everyone why they are saying no.

Thank you for sending the President’s Message asking me for my money and my vote. While I did vote for Democrats in past elections, and I did contribute to Hillary Clinton the maximum that the law allowed, I will never again vote for a Democrat or give even one dollar of my hard earned money to a Democrat. That begs the question, Why? I’ve decided to tell you why. First of all, the Democrats in both the House and the Senate have followed Obama and his agenda like lemmings. Secondly, they foisted huge government control over our lives without taking the time to read the bills, to consider the consequences, and to consider the wishes of the American people. Because of the reckless actions of this president and the Democrats who have carried out his agenda, we are about to go over a cliff. Sadly, most Americans who voted for Obama are poorly informed or so enamored with his campaign rhetoric that they are still traveling on those deceptions. I’m taking valuable time to enumerate all the things that Obama has done that should outrage every decent American.

1. When Obama wrote his books, he admitted he was mentored as a youth by Frank Marshall Davis who is an avowed Communist.
2. Obama’s grandparents were strong socialists who sent Obama’s mother to a socialist school where she was introduced to Frank Marshall Davis and she later introduced her son, Barack Obama, to him.
3. Barack Hussein Obama was enrolled as a Muslim child in school. Both his father and step-father were Muslims.
4. In his book, Obama said he chose Marxist friends and professors in college.
5. In his book, Obama said “I will stand with them (Muslims) should political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
6. After college, Obama traveled to Pakistan. At that time Americans could not enter Pakistan. He did enter on an unknown national passport.
7. In 1996 when Obama ran for the Illinois Senate, he sought the endorsement of the Marxist Party.
8. Obama sat in a Chicago church for twenty years and listened to a preacher spew hatred for America, for Jews, and advocate for black liberation theology.
9. As soon as Obama announced his decision to run, the Palestinians in Gaza set up a fund-raising telethon to raise money for his election campaign.
10. Obama has consistently supported gun control that would prohibit gun ownership in cities where guns were outlawed in violation of the U.S. Constitution.
11. Obama refused to disclose who donated money for his election campaign as other candidates have done.
12. Obama received endorsements from the most radical people: Louis Farrakhan, Kadaffi, and Chavez.
13. Obama had no job experience except as a community organizer and now that he has been in office almost two years, his lack of experience shows. He does not know how to govern.
14. His friendship with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn raises the specter that Obama is comfortable with people who engage in revolutionary violence against Americans when it serves their ends.
15. Obama refused to wear a flag in his lapel and only did so when there was a public outcry.
16. Obama had children in school singing his praises and treating him as a Messiah. This is the worst form of indoctrination.
17. Obama stood with his hands over his groin during the playing of the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance. It speaks volumes, especially taken together with his bow to the Saudi King and his countless apologies to the world for America. No other president has ever done that nor should they.
18. Obama picked radical people to be a part of his administration, those who were perfectly in accord with curtailing freedom of speech in order to silence his opposition.
19. Obama advocated for sex education in Kindergarten that included homosexual information.
20. Obama has spent nearly $2 million to hide all documentation of his personal background so that no one can find out who he really is. As a former Judge, I know when people go to such lengths to hide information, it’s because they have something to hide.
21. When the place of his birth was called into question, a person with nothing to hide would have produced his birth certificate and all his college applications which would include information about where he was born.
22. Obama had a close relationship with Tony Resko, Rashid Khalidi and others of questionable character. Resko gave him a sweetheart deal on land to build his residence. Resko is now in prison. Khalidi is a radical anti-Semite.
23. The Marxist billionaire George Soros spent millions to get Obama elected. Why?
24. Obama trained ACORN workers in Chicago and was their attorney. He used them, and their thug ways to corrupt the caucuses during the primaries.
25. Obama stated to Joe the plumber that it was his aim to redistribute the wealth. He has been engaged in class warfare all of his adult life.
26. Obama selected Valerie Jarrett as Senior White House Advisor, and she is an avowed Socialist.

28. Obama put Carol Browner, a well known socialist to head his Global Warming initiative and to work on Cap and Trade, which would be the largest national tax our nation has ever known. He also picked Van Jones as his Green Energy Czar. Jones had to resign when his Communist beliefs came to light.
29. Obama has shown over and over again that he is anti-Israel and will favor Palestinians and Muslims at every turn.
30. Obama has supported the building of the Mosque at Ground Zero in defiance of those who have lost loved ones, in defiance of the will of the people.
31. Obama pushed a health care plan that the people don’t want. It will lead to higher costs and rationing. He advocated taking one half billion dollars from Medicare to give health care to illegal aliens.
32. Obama has sued the state of Arizona who only want the federal government to do its job and protect our borders from violent illegals crossing to sell drugs and engage in human trafficking.
33. Obama took $20 million to resettle Gaza residents in the USA.
34. Obama upset our European allies by removing plans for a missile defense system that they counted on to ward off Russian aggression.
35. Obama took a huge spending bill under the guise of a stimulus and used it as a pay off for organizations, unions and individuals that helped get him elected.
36. Obama took over insurance companies, car companies, and banks. He gave control to the unions at the expense of bondholders and shareholders.
37. Obama closed dealerships all over the country based on racial and political discrimination. He gave minorities and Democrats the dealerships he took away from white Republicans.
38. Obama took student loans from banks and gave them to the government in order to control who gets the loans, giving priority to minorities.
39. On tapes that have come to light, Obama admits to Muslim groups that he was raised a Muslim, educated as a Muslim and is a Muslim.
40. Obama reported our country to the Human Rights commission of the UN to be put on a list of human rights abusers for not allowing government employees to unionize in every one of the 50 states. On that list include Muslim stoning of adulterers, suicide bombers, etc. And now, thanks to Obama, we are included. Outrageous!
41. Obama violated his campaign promise to have all major bills posted on the Internet in advance of a vote.
42. Obama insulted Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, by hiding him in a room at the White House, and left Netanyahu to sit alone in that room while Obama went to have his dinner.
43. Obama insulted our best ally, the UK, by returning the Winston Churchill bust that they gave us as a gift for our aid during WWII and which sat in the White House ever since until the Obama removed it.
44. During the time of our present economic crisis when so many of our citizens are jobless, Obama and his extravagant wife (with 23 personal assistants) have lavishly entertained themselves at the White House and on more vacations than any of his predecessors, and all in just the first two years of his term.

* He wants to redistribute the wealth from those who work hard, pay their taxes and who don't depend on government enttilements. He wants to give the wealth he steals to the 47% who pay no taxes and take whatever they can for free.

* He wants to allow as many illegal aliens to enter the country and to give them amnesty in order to get their votes.

* He wants to enlarge government so that we become a socialist state.

* He wants to help the Muslims infiltrate our country in large numbers, and to allow the spread of Islam.

* He wants to eliminate the American ideology from our textbooks, and to elevate the role of minorities in history while diminishing the status of the real founders of our nation.

* He wants to align our country with all those rogue nations that wish to destroy western civiliztion--Venezuela, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, etc.

* He wants to have government decide what medical treatment should be permitted and that will include rationing.

* He wants to level the playing field by giving what he steals from the producers to those who freeload.

* He wants to make sure that minorities are favored in institutions of higher learning by giving them many freebies and financial aid as he can get away with.

* He wants to destroy Israel in keeping with his promise to Egypt's foreign minister that was inadvertently picked up in their private conversation.

* In short, he wants to do what he told you he would do--transform America to the Saul Alinsky neoCommunist state where government takes over as many companies as they can.

* He wants to raise taxes, increase regulations and benefit unions to the detriment of business, who are, after all, the ones who must create the jobs that produce revenue.

* He wants to increase government jobs...they cost us money and produce no revenue.

Those who failed to investigate Obama's background are now covering for themselves by covering for him.

THE LEFT IS THE ENEMY OF JEWS AND ISRAEL

Stop the insanity, the foolishness. Recognize that Muslims are determined to spread their barbaric beliefs and Sharia law all across the West. By allowing Mosques (where indoctrination occurs) to proliferate, we are aiding them in their mission: convert the infidel or kill them. OBAMA: A FAILED PRESIDENCY

Barack Obama is on track to have the most spectacularly failed presidency since Woodrow Wilson. In the modern era, we've seen several failed presidencies--led by Jimmy Carter and LBJ. Failed presidents have one strong common trait-- they are repudiated, in the vernacular, spat out. Of course, LBJ wisely took the exit ramp early, avoiding a shove into oncoming traffic by his own party. Richard Nixon indeed resigned in disgrace, yet his reputation as a statesman has been partially restored by his triumphant overture to China.

But, Barack Obama is failing. Failing big. Failing fast. And failing everywhere: foreign policy, domestic initiatives, and most importantly, in forging connections with the American people. The incomparable Dorothy Rabinowitz in the Wall Street Journal put her finger on it: He is failing because he has no understanding of the American people, and may indeed loathe them. Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard says he is failing because he has lost control of his message, and is overexposed. Clarice Feldman of American Thinker produced a dispositive commentary showing that Obama is failing because fundamentally he is neither smart nor articulate; his intellectual dishonesty is conspicuous by its audacity and lack of shame.

But, there is something more seriously wrong: How could a new president riding in on a wave of unprecedented promise and goodwill have forfeited his tenure and become a lame duck in six months? His poll ratings are in free fall. In generic balloting, the Republicans have now seized a five point advantage. This truly is unbelievable. What's going on?

No narrative. Obama doesn't have a narrative. No, not a narrative about himself. He has a self-narrative, much of it fabricated, cleverly disguised or written by someone else. But this self-narrative is isolated and doesn't connect with us. He doesn't have an American narrative that draws upon the rest of us. All successful presidents have a narrative about the American character that intersects with their own where they display a command of history and reveal an authenticity at the core of their personality that resonates in a positive endearing way with the majority of Americans. We admire those presidents whose narratives not only touch our own, but who seem stronger, wiser, and smarter than we are. Presidents we admire are aspirational peers, even those whose politics don't align exactly with our own: Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Harry Truman, Ike, and Reagan.

But not this president. It's not so much that he's a phony, knows nothing about economics, and is historically illiterate and woefully small minded for the size of the task--all contributory of course. It's that he's not one of us. And whatever he is, his profile is fuzzy and devoid of content, like a cardboard cutout made from delaminated corrugated paper. Moreover, he doesn't command our respect and is unable to appeal to our own common sense. His notions of right and wrong are repugnant and how things work just don't add up. They are not existential. His descriptions of the world we live in don't make sense and don't correspond with our experience.

In the meantime, while we've been struggling to take a measurement of this man, he's dissed just about every one of us--financiers, energy producers, banks, insurance executives, police officers, doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, post office workers, and anybody else who has a non-green job. Expect Obama to lament at his last press conference in 2012: "For those of you I offended, I apologize. For those of you who were not offended, you just didn't give me enough time; if only I'd had a second term, I could have offended you too."

Mercifully, the Founders at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 devised a useful remedy for such a desperate state--staggered terms for both houses of the legislature and the executive. An equally abominable Congress can get voted out next year. With a new Congress, there's always hope of legislative gridlock until we vote for president again two short years after that.

Yes, small presidents do fail, Barack Obama among them. The coyotes howl but the wagon train keeps rolling along.

A Letter to the Jewish People Who Still Believe in Obama and that Peace Can Be Obtained By Giving Up More Land:

When Israel gave up Gaza for Peace, they received more violence and a Hamas government in power to do them as much harm as possible. If Israel abandons Judea, Samararia, the Golan, the Jordan Valley and parts of Jerusalem, they will have violence and missiles coming at them from all sides, and in closer proximity.

The Koran mandates that infidels (non-Muslims) be converted to Islam or be killed--also that the Middle East be pure and free of all infidels. That the annihilation of Israel. Muslims don't want peace even when they say they do. They want conversion or death.

The West should not expect peace from a primitive people who produce nothing of value except the oil extracted from their land by others via contracts.

Muslims cling to a pagan mythology which embodies all manner of conquest, murder, torture and child molestation. They believe it is justified to indoctrinate hatred in their people. If Jews expect that Muslims will abandon the mandate of Mohammed (Allah) or the Koran they are living in la la land. Of all people, Jews should recognize aberrant behavior and ideology when they see it, considering they have been the victims of it throughout human history.

It didn't start with Islam. It started in ancient times when Jews refused to accept the many gods of both the Greeks and the Romans. Then it traveled to the Christians during the time of the Crusades, when a dead Jew on a Roman Cross was their reason to wantonly kill so many Jews. Each group of killers had their high priest from the early Popes to Hitler and now to Mohammed. Soon the goodness of Christianity prevailed and that kind of destruction is anathema to true Christians, but expect no such change from Muslims. Only a complete genocide will quench their blood lust which is why the Muslim "Ummah" people cannot be pacified no matter how much Israel panders or gives up. Remember this well: Islam cannot be appeased.

Amazingly, their are so many Jews, mostly American Jews, who are gullible fools who either can't remember history or are too ignorant of it. Understandable that Jews want peace after centuries of being hunted, killed, vilified and denied their human dignity. Of course they want to have a land of their own to be safe from this violent scourge against them that has never stopped.

Any rational Jew who knows history and understands the Muslim mindset knows that Judea, Samaria, the Jordan Valley, the Golan Heights and Jerusalem will be used as Gaza is used--launching pads for missiles to be fired into their neighborhoods. And these missiles are now accurate and have the capacity to reach every part of Israel.

A dismal picture. Are there any real solutions? First, it must be realized there will be no permanent peace in the Middle East, not for Israel, not even for other Muslim nations if Israel is obliterated. Shocking that American Jewish leaders are listening to an arch killer of Jews, the very person who facilitated Arafat's schemes to destroy Israel. Who is this person? Mahmoud Abbas, head of the Palestinian Authority who now lies in English just as Arafat did. Jews listen to him with rapt attention, polite applause--the very same man who was Arafat's bag man who assisted in the Munich massacres of all the Israeli athletes who participated in the Olympics among and in so many other acts of terror. And these same dumb Jews are now buying into the falsehoods of Barack Hussein Obama, who is pressuring Israel to surrender their defensive territory in their rightful ancient homeland.

Finally Israelis have awaken to their own naivete. They know Netanyahu will not be pushed around as Ehud Olmert, Tzippi Levni and Ehud Barak have been. And as Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peris was in their gullible dealings with Arafat and the Oslo fiasco.

The Torah says Jews are not to adopt the gods of others nor use images to worship. Yet Jews are honoring the false messiah in America...Obama, who is leading both America and Israel into national suicide, one by an economic measure and the other by surrender to a hateful enemy.

Groveling never works and has never brought peace to Jews wherever they are. For those who have forgotten or for those who never knew, paying bribes to the local Commissars of Russia or Poland or Germany gave them deaths in the millions. Everything they had was taken away from them leaving them destitute or dead.

In 2005, before Israel gave Gaza to the Palestinians, they had turned that land into bug free fertile soil and greenhouses where the best organic fruits and vegetables were grown along with beautiful flowers. As soon as these Gaza Muslims got the land they looted, burned, and destroyed everything that the Jews built, the greenhouses, the buildings, the cemetery, the schools. They destroyed the pipes, valves and electronic controls of all the greenhouses. Then these same idiots tried to grow produce on the arid soil as the Jews had done. But they couldn't. They didn't know how. Now these same Muslims live on the largesse of the Israelis and others for their survival. Stupid beyond what anyone could have imagined. The dumbest of dumb. And they have set up rocket launchers on that land to shoot 10,000 rockets, missiles and mortars into the Jewish civilian population. They will never stop until they are taken out.

Imagine if Canada or Mexico were doing the same thing to us. What would we do? I take that thought back because in this Obama administration we see that the Mexican drug cartel can kill our people and face no real opposition from the Obama administration. And when the Governor of Arizona tries to protect her people, Obama fights her instead of the Mexican illegal criminals. And this Obama is who the people of American elected. "What fools we mortals be." Shakespeare.

If Israel concedes to Obama's wishes and gives up Judea, Samaria, the Jordan Valley and parts of Jerusalem, there will be a bigger Palestinian Muslim State of Terror than what they now have in Gaza. Jews must stop believing that the Muslims want peace. They don't. And neither does Obama. He just wants to redistribute American wealth to his constituency, regardless of the destructive effect to our nation. Israel means nothing to him except he must pretend to insure the dumb Jews that he is sincere in order to get their votes and their money.

Islamists and Arabists inhabit this White House in large numbers.

Remember the Koran demands that true Muslims should lie to infidels to get what they want. Mohammed was a master of deceit. He made false treaties while building his military strength and then breaking the treaties and slaughtering those who believed his contractual promises.

As this is written, weak and gullible American Jewish leaders are buying into the lies of Obama and Islam to the detriment of Israel and ultimately to their own detriment.

So we come to the last part of my letter. What can be done?

Jews must look at their own history, the 1967 war and the 1973 war and also look at what it took for us to win the Second World War. You can't fight a war with one hand tied behind your back. When the Muslims launch rockets and missiles, destroy every last one of them even the human shields. Take out your enemy. We flattened Berlin, Dresden and the German war machine. That's how we won. If we hadn't done that, Hitler would have been victorious. Now America is losing every war we engage in and spending billions in the process. When an enemy goes to war to destroy a nation, that nation has every right to destroy the enemy first if they can.

Survival of the fittest is part of the entire animal kingdom and humans are part of that kingdom.

OBAMA'S DIABOLICAL PLAN

Barack Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University . They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

-- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to

20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

-- Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

-- Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.

-- Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America . But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.

-- Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America . The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.

-- Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by Barack Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan.

MY ASSESSMENT OF OBAMA IS BASED ON HIS RECORD OF FAILURE. Obama has been cut throat, calculating, aloof, arrogant and divisive "from day one". He and his liberal political elites think they know what's best for the people and the bigger the government the better. He has routinely ignored the will of the people (debt, health care, borders), and while his most noticeable feature are his big ears, he lacks the common sense to use them.

For most Americans, Obama means 13 trillion dollars in debt and rising to 17-19 trillion before he is through. Debt service of up to $ 1 trillion a year. A permanent reduction in the lifestyle of all of our descendants. The end of American exceptionalism and the gross reduction of American power. Double digit unemployment. An ever smaller number of productive people supporting an ever growing number of government workers. Massive inflation. Abandoning the dollar as the world's reserve currency. And the laughter of China, Russia and every two bit dictator in the middle east, Asia and South America. And his scorn for Israel in favor of his beloved Muslims is putting the country in grave danger as he emboldens the terrorists in their jihad against Israel and us.

Every day I turn on TV and there is more thing evidence of what the Obama administration and the Democrats are doing to take over the country and destroy our freedoms. Obama is chronically detached from the central and immediate concerns of "The People" he was hired to serve, instead, he is dragging America into the alternate universe of his Socialistic ideology. He thrives in the ether of platitudes, having no interest in or ability to perform actual leadership. We are now experiencing the effects and may well be in for a very rough ride these next 2 years.

As Lou Holtz says, “Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it.” The issue is how Obama and his bumbling, finger-pointing, evasive group of academic administrators fully and completely bungle their jobs demonstrating daily their inability to handle almost anything.

As the Obama administration enters its second year, I -- and undoubtedly millions of others -- have struggled to develop a shorthand term that captures our emotional unease. Defining this discomfort is tricky. I reject nearly the entire Obama agenda, but the term "being opposed" lacks an emotional punch. Nor do terms like "worried" or "anxious" apply. I was more worried about America 's future during the Johnson or Carter years, so it's not that dictionary, either. Nor, for that matter, is this about backroom odious deal-making and pork, which are endemic in American politics. After auditioning countless political terms, I finally realized that the Obama administration and its congressional collaborators almost resemble a foreign occupying force, a coterie of politically and culturally non-indigenous leaders whose rule contravenes local values rooted in our national tradition. It is as if the United States has been occupied by a foreign power, and this transcends policy objections. It is not about Obama's birthplace. It is not about race, either; millions of white Americans have had black mayors and black governors, and this unease about out-of-sync values never surfaced. The term I settled on is "alien rule" -- based on outsider values, regardless of policy benefits -- that generates agitation.

This is what bloody anti-colonial strife was all about. No doubt, millions of Indians and Africans probably grasped that expelling the British guaranteed economic ruin and even worse governance, but at least the mess would be their mess. Awareness began with Obama's odd pre-presidency associations, decades of being oblivious to Rev. Wright's anti-American ranting, his enduring friendship with the terrorist guy-in-the-neighborhood Bill Ayers, and the Saul Alinsky-flavored anti-capitalist community activism. Further add a hazy personal background -- an Indonesian childhood, shifting official names, and a paperless-trail climb through elite educational institutions.  None of this disqualified Obama from the presidency; rather, this background just doesn't fit with the conventional political résumé. It is just the "outsider" quality that alarms.

For all the yammering about George W. Bush's privileged background, his made-in-the-USA persona was absolutely indisputable. John McCain might be embarrassed about his Naval Academy class rank and iffy combat performance, but there was never any doubt of his authenticity. Countless conservatives despised Bill Clinton, but nobody ever, ever doubted his good-old-boy American bonafides.  The suspicion that Obama is an outsider, a figure who really doesn't "get" America , grew clearer from his initial appointments.

What "native" would appoint Kevin Jennings, a militant gay activist, to oversee school safety? Or permit a Marxist rabble-rouser to be a "green jobs czar"? How about an Attorney General who began by accusing Americans of cowardice when it comes to discussing race? And who can forget Obama's weird defense of his pal Louis Henry Gates from "racist" Cambridge , Massachusetts cops? If the American Revolution had never occurred and the Queen had appointed Obama Royal Governor (after his distinguished service in Kenya ), a trusted locally attuned aide would have first whispered in his ear, "Mr. Governor General, here in America , we do not automatically assume that the police were at fault," and the day would have been saved.  And then there's the "we are sorry, we'll never be arrogant again" rhetoric seemingly designed for a future President of the World election campaign.

What made Obama's Cairo utterances so distressing was how they grated on American cultural sensibilities. And he just doesn't notice, perhaps akin to never hearing Rev. Wright anti-American diatribes. An American president does not pander to third-world audiences by lying about the Muslim contribution to America. Imagine Ronald Reagan, or any past American president, trying to win friends by apologizing. This appeal contravenes our national character and far exceeds a momentary embarrassment about garbled syntax or poor delivery. Then there's Obama's bizarre, totally unnecessary deep bowing to foreign potentates. Americans look foreign leaders squarely in the eye and firmly shake hands; we don't bow.  

But far worse is Obama's tone-deafness about American government. How can any ordinary American, even a traditional liberal, believe that jamming through unpopular, debt-expanding legislation that consumes one-sixth of our GDP, sometimes with sly side-payments and with a thin majority, will eventually be judged legitimate? This is Third-World, maximum-leader-style politics. That the legislation was barely understood even by its defenders and vehemently championed by a representative of that typical American city, San Francisco , only exacerbates the strangeness.

And now President Obama sides with illegal aliens over the State of Arizona , which seeks to enforce the federal immigration law to protect American citizens from marauding drug gangs and other miscreants streaming in across the Mexican border. Reciprocal public disengagement from President Obama is strongly suggested by recent poll data on public trust in government. According to a recent Pew report, only 22% of those asked trust the government always or most of the time, among the lowest figures in half a century. And while pro-government support has been slipping for decades, the Obama presidency has sharply exacerbated this drop. To be sure, many factors (in particular the economic downturn) contribute to this decline, but remember that Obama was recently elected by an often wildly enthusiastic popular majority.

The collapse of trust undoubtedly transcends policy quibbles or a sluggish economy -- it is far more consistent with a deeper alienation.  Perhaps the clearest evidence for this "foreigner in our midst" mentality is the name given our resistance -- tea parties, an image that instantly invokes the American struggle against George III, a clueless foreign ruler from central casting. This history-laden label was hardly predetermined, but it instantly stuck (as did the election of Sen. Scott Brown as "the shot heard around the world" and tea partiers dressing up in colonial-era costumes).

Perhaps subconsciously, Obama does remind Americans of when the U.S. was really occupied by a foreign power. A Declaration of Independence passage may still resonate: "HE [George III] has erected a Multitude of new Offices [Czars], and sent hither Swarms of Officers [recently hired IRS agents] to harass our People, and eat out the Substance."

This is my most important post on this blog. I start with an article sent to me by a Rabbi who disagrees with what the Swiss have done. I responded to the rabbi and also sent him a note sent to me by Mike Evans, founder of the Jerusalem Prayer Team.

Can we blame the Swiss?

On Sunday, Swiss voters supported a referendum proposal to ban the building of minarets in their country. Official results show more than 57 percent of voters and 22 out of 26 cantons - or provinces - voted in favor of the ban. Building more minarets - in addition to the four existing ones - was seen by many Swiss as a sign of Islamization of their free country. The government opposed the ban, saying it would harm Switzerland's image, particularly in the Muslim world.
In this part of the article was a poster showing a woman wearing a burka against a background of a Swiss flag with minarets resembling missiles.

Several points must be raised in relation to this issue:
1.Can Muslims blame the Swiss people for being afraid of Islamization in their country? No, especially while the entire world sees the inhumane applications of Islamic law (Shari'a) wherever it is implemented. It should come as no surprise that the Swiss people don't want a system that even today practices discrimination against women, gays and minorities in the name of religion. The vivid images of stoning women and hanging gays in the Muslim world should make any sane individual inclined not to allow such an intolerant system to grow in his country under the banner of freedom of religion.
2. The Swiss people who rejected building minarets may be sending a message that their tolerance did not change the Muslim world and is not reciprocated. For several decades Muslims have been allowed to build mosques in Europe, wear their traditional symbols such as the hijab, and preach Islam to non-Muslims. Despite such high levels of tolerance in the West, non-Muslims are not permitted to practice similar rights in several parts of the Islamic world. Preaching Christianity is criminalized in a number of Muslim countries. Furthermore, non-Muslims are not permitted to have their holy books or to build their religious temples in many Shari'a-controlled areas. This lack of reciprocity of Western tolerance will naturally make many Westerners feel that showing tolerance to Muslims is not effective.
3. It seems strange that Muslims would insist on building minarets for mosques in Switzerland while thousands of mosques exist inside the Muslim world without minarets. The minarets are seen by many as representing the superiority of Islam, especially when they are taller than the churches; this sheds some light on the hidden intentions of Muslims who insist on building minarets in the heart of Europe. It is important that Muslims in Switzerland explain why they insist on using such historical symbols of Muslim superiority when it is neither mentioned in the Koran nor considered vital to building a mosque.
4. It seems too hypocritical that Muslims demand minarets in Europe while many non-Muslims in the Muslim world are denied basic and fundamental religious rights.
The more important problem Muslims in Switzerland should address is the lack of basic religious rights for non-Muslim minorities, not these unnecessary minarets.

Thank you for sending the link to the above article. Maybe I'm confused about the content of this article on the minarets, but it doesn't translate to a different point of view for me...it is my point of view.

Jeff, as a rabbi, you may see Islam as a religion and therefore entitled to every privilege accorded other religions, but I cannot view it that way because:

1. Islam promotes and condones the worst kind of violence against "infidels" and against their own kind who fail to live up to their rigid precepts--women particularly.

2. It is more than a religion--it is a political movement aimed at taking over the world, and doing so by whatever means necessary--with nuclear weapons at worst, with overpopulation and intimidation at best.

3. Islam endangers western civilization as we know it and wants to bring us back to a 7th century world. And that isn't confined to what you refer to as radical Islam. It is all of Islam. It's part of their religious obligation to convert the world to Islam by whatever means necessary.

4. Passive reactions in Europe are proving to be its undoing. Now anti-Semitism is peaking once again while Europeans are fearfully appeasing the Muslim hatred for Jews. Why now? Because Europeans are living in fear among a vast Muslim population that is driving them out of their own cities.

5. I know how much you disdain the Nazi metaphor, but it fits. Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away. It festers and grows until it can send innocent people to their deaths in gas chambers without objection. And even those who know its wrong no longer have power to stop it.

6. I believe we're on the verge of massive terrorist acts in our country, and this time it will come from our own home grown Muslims who will carry out their religious mandate--to kill us. Wherever large groups congregate, they will be at risk of a bomb in a bag or a suitcase. Subways, sports events, shopping malls during Christmas....how easily they can carry it out. And we can't profile because that is politically incorrect. Political correctness will be our undoing. Where do I get this notion? From Aviv Juval, the very same Israeli who warned the White House that we will be hit by planes going into high buildings, and that warning was made one month before 9-11. He recently predicted the London subway bombings. Israel plays to win, to survive. We could learn a lot from them but our intelligence gathering is so hampered by pollyannas and political correctness.

Grim, isn't it? But it's the way I see it. I wish more people had seen this scourge earlier and not allowed the massive Muslim infiltration in Europe, and now here. It's too late for Europe, but we still have time. So--I feel compelled to speak for the safety of a country I love more than political correctness.

Every religion does not deserve the same respect. The cults: David Koresh, Jim Jones, etc. were clearly driven by religious fanaticism. Islam is even worse.

Below is a message I sent to a chat friend who wanted to know my views on Obama. And if you scroll down, you'll see what I said followed by my friend's response:

Barack Obama is failing. And failing everywhere: foreign policy, domestic initiatives, and most importantly, in forging connections with the American people. He is failing because he has no understanding of the American people, and may indeed loathe them. He is failing because he has lost control of his message, and is overexposed. Obama is failing because fundamentally his intellectual dishonesty is conspicuous by its audacity and lack of shame. Personally, I don't believe he is an American in his views or his history. I see parallels to Hitler with his rise to power, his ridicule of the right, his effort to quell dissent and even having little kids singing songs about him. Scary.

Obama has a self-narrative, much of it fabricated, cleverly disguised or written by someone else. But this self-narrative is isolated and doesn't connect with us. He doesn't have an American narrative that draws upon the rest of us. All successful presidents have a narrative about the American character that intersects with their own where they display a command of history and reveal an authenticity at the core of their personality that resonates in a positive endearing way with the majority of Americans. But not this president. It's not so much that he's a phony, knows nothing about economics, and is historically illiterate and woefully small minded for the size of the task--all contributory of course. It's that he's not one of us. And whatever he is, his profile is fuzzy and devoid of content, like a cardboard cutout. Moreover, he doesn't command our respect and is unable to appeal to our own common sense. His notions of right and wrong are repugnant and how things work just don't add up. His descriptions of the world we live in don't make sense and don't correspond with our experience.

I've been posting on the current political climate for the past several months. Whether or not its had much of an effect remains an unanswered question. I've been so disheartened with the Obama administration and the ferocity with which they've moved to expand the federal government and take over our country: private enterprise, the environment, and especially health care.

Presently, there are three important races: the race for Governor in Virginia, the race for Governor in New Jersey, and the race for Congress in New York state. As of today, it looks as if two of those three races will go Republican, and the NJ race is now in a dead heat. People are waking up. They now know Obama told them a lot of lies during his campaign to be President. If you have any doubts about his lies, you need to watch this video:

He is moving rapidly to the extreme left, a place where only 20% of the population are in their ideology. I predict Obama will not serve a second term if he continues in this direction.

I am hopeful that our country will be able to overcome the damage when Obama is no longer in office, assuming we can also get rid of Nancy Pelosi,Harry Reid, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.

In that regard, the Republicans have to make certain commitments:

1. They have to enlarge their tent to make room for moderates, and that includes so many young people and women who are pro-choice.

2. They have to choose candidates who have a real presence and can attract the younger generation who are becoming increasingly active.

3. They have to stop all the voter fraud that has now become so widespread because of ACORN and SEIU, the union, two groups that employ the same thug tactics as were shown during the Caucuses of the Obama primary.

4. There has to be strong enforcement of our immigration laws, something George W. Bush failed to do.

Obama never has to worry about success or failure--he travels on race and rhetoric.

He is the hope and change for Muslims and Europeans. The Muslims want to spread their dark age ideology all over the globe. Europe is overrun with them. They now want to take over our country. Obama will facilitate their takeover and has already signed an executive order to finance the migration of Hamas and other Muslims to this country with HB 1388.

Europe has an ideology of redistributing the wealth from those who work and create to the indolent who live on the dole. Europe can't even finance a military to defend itself. Now Obama comes along and wants to do the same thing here. So, of course he wins the Nobel Peace Prize. We know it's a joke. After all, didn't our worst president win it--Carter. And now the man who will give Carter a reprieve from being the worst to the next to worst president comes along and wins the prize.

What a tragedy for our country that we have to endure Obama, this man of destruction who is actually the best friend the Muslims ever had. I fear for the survival of Israel.

SNOPES IS WRONG AGAIN

Sometimes we have to vent. I have seen a real change in the way people interact since the Obama campaign began. I thought hostility was at an all time high when George W. Bush was president, but that can't compare to what is happening now. Not only is our country polarized into two factions, those for Obama and those against him, but estrangements between friends and families is on the rise. These rifts are not being caused for the usual reasons: divorce, in-law problems, inheritance, money, etc. They're occurring because people are so entrenched in their political beliefs, particularly those who support Obama, that they are unwilling to hear any dissenting views. I mean they actually get furious if someone, a friend or family member, sends them e-mails containing opinions or articles that take issue with the Obama party line.

Here's one example that I learned about from a friend. Several months ago, she sent a family member, who calls herself a journalist, information that Obama signed an executive order granting Palestinians from Gaza the right to come to this country, to travel here and to stay here, and $20 million dollars was allocated to start the migration. These are people who could very well be Hamas terrorists, but that did nothing to stop Obama from signing the order. The "journalist" fired back an e-mail telling her it was a hoax according to Snopes. But, in fact, it was not a hoax as proven by the citation of the executive order now published in the Federal Register. Here's the e-mail she sent that discredits Snopes:

You just spent $20,000,000+ to move members/supporters of Hamas, a
terrorist organization, to the United States ; housing, food, the whole
enchilada.

Something happened.... H.R. 1388 was passed, behind our backs. You may want to read about it.. It wasn't mentioned on the news...just went by on the ticker tape at the bottom of the CNN screen.

Obama funds $20M in tax payer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the USA. This is the news that didn't make the headlines... By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in Gaza.

The "presidential determination", which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with possible ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States,was signed and appears in the Federal Register.

Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas)in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

Let's review....itemized list of some of Barack Obama's most recent actions since his inauguration:

His first call to any head of state, as president, was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

His first one-on-one television interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.

His first executive order was to fund/facilitate abortion(s) not just here within the U.S., but within the world, using U. S. tax payer funds.

He ordered Guantanamo Bay Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.

He ordered overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and the "terror attack" on 9/11.

Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to, and live in, the US at American taxpayer expense.

These important, and insightful, issues are being "lost" in the blinding bail-outs and "stimulation" packages.

Above is the e-mail my friend forwarded to her "journalist" relative with a short note reminding her that HB1388 was not a hoax as Snopes reported. She said, "There is a lag time between the signing of a presidential order and the time it gets into the Federal Register. Snopes--wrong again," based on a prior incorrect call by Snopes that an item not favorable to Obama was labeled a hoax. Her relative told her to stop sending anything political and called her a "bully" for sending her the correction.

After that exchange, her relative removed her as a friend on Facebook, an obvious rebuff that was hurtful. "I guess I have to assume that she and I are estranged, and what is most shocking is the fact that she is a reporter. How she can call herself a journalist is beyond me."

I am seeing this kind of attitude on our mainstream media. The "journalist is in good company. The left wing media: NBC, MSNBC, the NYT, the Washington Post, and the LA Times never reported either the ACORN story or the Van Jones story until it was covered on FOX and the evidence of corruption was irrefutable.

What I am hearing from so many others is the same kind of reaction from the friends and family members who support Obama. This is scary. It's sad, depressing and dangerous for our country.

OBAMA SCARES ME

Why would a President of the United States allow an investigation into the CIA interrogations with all the risks attendant to it? We are a country with vicious enemies: Islamic Fascists, Al Quaeda, Iran, No. Korea, and Venezuela (Chavez), and Russia is not exactly our friend, nor is China.

Now look at our allies: Europe is powerless, overrrun with Muslims, Africa is corrupt, and Israel is fighting for its life. And what are we doing: undermining our CIA, our intelligence community, making it impossible for intelligence communities from allied nations to exchange information with us because we can't be trusted to safeguard the identity of their agents.

Why would anyone go to work for the CIA and put their lives in jeopardy for so little compensation and have the added risk of being outed by their very own government? Oh, and yet another danger, the possibility of being criminally prosecuted for doing their job from a prosecutor who has forgotten the 9-11 attack and what it did to our country?

And now, Obama removes missile defense from our allies, Poland and the Czhek Republic, and he does it on the day of the 1939 Nazi invasion of Poland. This was a real gift to Russia who wants desperately to reassemble the Soviet Union.

When the campaign was going on, I said, Obama, is a narcissistic neophyte, too inexperienced to govern this country. How right I was!!!

It begs the question: whose side is Obama on?

WHAT WE WANT

The American people are weary of this man in the White House and all the lies and distortions that flow from his silken tongue. We are moving toward a mini revolution because of the abuse coming from the WH and the leftists who are controlling everything, Pelosi, Reid, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and the like.

The American people do want health care reform but not a government takeover shoved down the throats of thinking people who are actually looking at the details of the bill that was put forth by the House.

We are not going to have our rights trampled on, the right to choose and the right to privacy. Both are guaranteed under our great Constitution. Unfortunately, appointing czars to run our government in order to bypass FBI clearance and Senate confirmation is the sign of a dictator, a widespread practice of repressive regimes.

Is that what we have become under Obama?

This is the health care reform Americans want:

Tort Reform: either put a cap on medical malpractice jury verdicts, or make the loser pay court costs and attorney’s fees to stop frivolous law suits, or have these cases decided by Administrative Judges who specialize in this complex area of the law.

Have interstate competition for health care insurance so that people can get a better price. Right now the insurers are able to charge anything they want. The states are responsible for this.

Pharmaceutical companies should not be exempt from anti-trust laws. Right now Americans are paying more for our drugs than anywhere else in the world because pharmaceutical companies sell their products for less elsewhere and overcharge us to pay for all their advertising and (they say for research and development.)

Make health insurance portable so that when someone moves to another job or another state they can take their insurance with them.

Make it a law, no insurers can deny coverage for anyone with pre-existing condition.
Give a tax credit to employers who give medical insurance coverage for their employees.

On the matter of illegals, eliminate welfare benefits and Medicaid to them. Also fence our border with Mexico and deport illegal aliens especially those who are committing crimes. And make it a crime to hire an illegal alien. They’ll leave on their own steam if they can’t get a job so they can send their money home to Mexico while crowding our emergency rooms and our jails.

If the knuckleheads in Congress and the Senate can do this, a vast majority of the American people will cheer, and the legislators can retain what they have--their power.

It’s a win/win.

WOMEN: DON'T OVERLOOK YOUNGER MEN

What we want is often guided by what we think we can get. Men, no matter how out of shape, bald, limp, or crude seem to think of themselves as God's gift to women. Just because you're not a perfect size for your height or because you have some years on you, doesn't mean you're not desirable. Your own self-doubt can present the biggest challenge. Once a woman has reached the age where her body isn't as perfect, as toned as when she was younger, she questions her ability to attract a younger man, habitually overlooking or ignoring a full landscape of relationship opportunities.

Today, older women are better looking, younger in heart, mind and spirit than their male counterparts. In fact the counterparts are dwindling faster because many men don't take good care of themselves, so you have every reason and right to explore the population of younger men. And you'll never know if you don't try.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: A 60 year old man escorts a 35 year old woman into a restaurant and no one even thinks twice about it even though it's obvious she's not his daughter. What would people think if the genders were reversed?

It's women who raise eyebrows. Time to stop criticizing each other and to eliminate this self-imposed taboo. Men think nothing of age when they see an attractive woman. Why should we put boundaries on ourselves? I've seen some gorgeous older women and they are as desirable to a younger man as a woman of his own age.

We've seen how the Sally Quinn's and the Maureen Dowds of the world have persisted in putting women down. What they did to Hillary and Sarah Palin is indicative of what women do to each other. Let's start supporting each other in all aspects of life.

PROPER CRITERIA FOR ELECTIVE OFFICE TO THE HOUSE AND SENATE

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides will never agree on what is right so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable
differences and go our separate ways.

Here is a model separation agreement:
Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by land mass, each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

We don't like redistributing taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. (You'll be responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them.)

We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies (??maybe), Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless,homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles, the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and give you ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC and Hollywood.

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide security.

We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the UN, but we will no longer be paying the bill.

We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and the "National Anthem". I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute "Imagine", "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", "Kum Ba Ya" or "We Are the World".

We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

A DOCTOR'S COMMENTS: AND A REALITY CHECK ON OBAMA'S HEALTHCARE PLAN

Friends:

I have been sitting quietly on the sidelines watching all of this national debate on healthcare. It is time for me to bring some clarity to the table, and, as your friend, by explaining many of the problems from the aspect of a doctor.

First off the government has involved very few of us physicians in the healthcare debate. While the American Medical Association has come out in favor of the plan, it is vital to remember that the AMA represents only 17% of the American physician workforce.

I have taken care of Medicaid patients for 35 years while representing the only pediatric ophthalmology group left in Atlanta,Georgia that accepts Medicaid. Why is this? For example,in the past 6 months I have cared for three young children on Medicaid who had corneal ulcers. This is a potentially blinding situation because if the cornea perforates from the infection,almost surely blindness will occur. In all three cases the antibiotic needed for the eradication of the infection was not on the approved Medicaid list. Each time I was told to fax Medicaid for the approval forms which I did. Within 48 hours the form came back to me which was mailed in immediately via fax, and I was told that I would have my answer in 10 days. Of course by then each child would have been blind in the eye. Each time the request came back denied. All three times I personally provided the antibiotic for each patient which was not on the Medicaid approved list. Get the point—rationing of care.
for over 1000 children born with congenital cataracts. In older children and in adults the vision is rehabilitated with an intraocular lens. In newborns we use contact lenses which are very expensive. It takes Medicaid over one year to approve a contact lens post cataract surgery. By that time a successful anatomical operation is wasted as the child will be close to blind from a lack of focusing for so long a period of time. Again extreme rationing. Solution- I have a foundation here in Atlanta supported 100% by private funds which supplies all of these contact lenses for my Medicaid and illegal immigrants children for free. Again waiting for the government would be disastrous.

Last week I had a lady bring her child to me.They are Americans but live in Sweden as the father has a job with a big corporation. The child had the on set of double vision 3 months ago and has been unable to function normally because of this. They are people of means but are waiting 8 months to see the ophthalmologist in Sweden . Then if the child needed surgery they would be put on a 6 month waiting list. She called me and I saw her that day. It turned out that the child had accommodative esotropia (crossing of the eyes treated with glasses that correct for farsightedness) and responded to glasses within 4 days , no surgery was needed. Again rationing of care.

Last month I operated on a 70 year old lady with double vision present for 3 years. She responded quite nicely to her surgery and now is symptom free. I also operated on a 69 year old judge with vertical double vision. His surgery went very well and now he is happy as a lark. I have been told that these 2 people because of their age would have been denied surgery and just told to wear a patch over one eye to alleviate the symptoms of double vision if Obama's plan was passed. Obviously cheaper than surgery.

I spent two year in the US Navy during the Viet Nam war and was well treated by the military. But there was tremendous rationing of care and we were told specificially what things the military personnel and their dependents could have and which things they could not have. While in Viet Nam , my wife Nancy got sick and got essentially no care at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, California . She went home and went to her family’s private internist in Beverly Hills. While it was expensive, she received an immediate work up. Again rationing of care.

For those of you who are over 65, this bill in its present form might be lethal for you. People in England over 59 cannot receive stents for their coronary arteries. The government wants to mimic the British plan. For those of you younger,it will still mean restriction of the care that you and your children receive.

While 99% of physicians went into medicine because of the love of medicine and the challenge of helping our fellow man, economics are still important. My rent goes up 2% each year and the salaries of my employees goes up 2% each year. Twenty years ago ophthalmologists were paid $1800 for a cataract urgery and today $500. This is a 73% decrease in our fees. I do not know of many jobs in America that have seen this lowering of fees.

But there is more to the story than just the lower fees. When I came to Atlanta there was a well known ophthalmologist that charged $2500 for a cataract surgery as he felt he was the best. He had a terrific reputation and in fact I had my mother’s bilateral cataracts operated on by him with a wonderful result. She is now 94 and has 20/20 vision in both eyes. People would pay his $2500 fee. However then the government came in and said that any doctor that does medicare work can not accept more than the going rate(now $500)or he or she would be severely fined. This put an end to his charging $2500. The government said it was illegal to accept more than the government allowed rate. What I am driving at is that those of you well off will not be able to go to the head of the line under this new healthcare plan just because you have money as no physician will be willing to go against the law to treat you.

I am a pediatric ophthalmologist and trained for 10 years post college to become a pediatric ophthalmologist (add two years of my service in the Navy and that comes to 12 years). A neurosurgeon spends 14 years pos college and if he or she has to do the military that would be 16 years. I am not entitled to make what a neurosurgeon makes but the new plan calls for all physicians to make the same amount of payment. I assure you that medical students will not go into neurosurgery and we will have a tremendous shortage of neurosurgeons. Already the top neurosurgeon at my hospital who is in good health and only 52 years old has just quit because he can’t stand working with the government anymore. Forty-nine percent of children under the age of 16 in the state of Georgia are on medicaid so he felt he just could not stand working with the beaurocracy anymore.

We are being lied to about the uninsured. They are getting care. I operate on at least 2 illegal immigrants each month who pay me nothing and the children’s hospital at which I operate charges them nothing also. This is true not only in Atlanta, but in every community in America.

The bottom line is that I urge all of you to contact your congresswomen and congressmen and senators to defeat this bill. I promise you that you will not like rationing of your own health.

Furthermore, how can you trust a physician that works under these conditions knowing that he is controlled by the state. I certainly could not trust any doctor that would work under these draconian conditions.

One last thing, with this new healthcare plan there will be a tremendous shortage of physicians. It has been estimated that approximately 5% of the current physician work force will quit under this new system. Also it is estimated that another 5% shortage will occur because of decreased men and women wanting to go into medicine....

I'm not the only one who sees these ominous signs that are happening before our eyes. I know, you are probably going to say I'm paranoid, wacko or worse, but, I too, like the writer of this article set forth below, have a good knowledge of history. Remember, "He who ignores history is condemned to repeat it." We still have time to stop this march to socialism. If enough of us speak up, we can prevent the takeover by a government that has consistently failed to prevent toxic food, toxic water, toxic drugs, toxic toys, deteriorating infrastructure, corruption and wasteful spending by both Republican and Democratic members of Congress.

All the while, China is on the move securing for themselves exclusive rights to natural resources that we need to be preeminent in a world that wants to destroy us. Islam is hellbent on converting the world to their religion or killing those who refuse to convert. Nuclear weapons remain and continue to proliferate in the hands of maniacal dictators. And now we have our own Chamberlain, appeasing these rogue leaders including Ahmahdinijhad, Hugo Chavez and so many others who our President coddles with appeasing language while he scolds and threatens Israel. Wow! I am really worried about the cheers and swooning at the Obama rock concerts. I am not going to be silenced. There's too much at stake even if many of you don't think so.

Or, is it just that you have to have all these government hand outs even at the expense of losing what made this country great? What is happening to the American spirit? Surely, it's still there. I hope so.

One more point: Both the President and the members of Congress exempted themselves from all of the various health care plans being proposed. If that doesn't raise questions in your mind, I would have to say you have closed your minds, and that spells real trouble.

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books in six languages, and have studied history all my life. I think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes, these exist but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about 10 - 15 years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demanded and then codified into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people whom we knew could never pay back? Why? We learned recently that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700B we all argued about so strenuously just this past September.

Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "We the People," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (now violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it wants marriage to remain between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?). We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, Social Security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and know precisely what I am talking about.) The list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x 10. And we are at war with an enemy we cannot name for fear of offending people of the same religion who cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And now we have elected a man no one knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla, Alaska. All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more important.)

Mr.. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change...radical change. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now. This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning.

I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the savior was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they did know was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory and promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker.. And he smiled and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully them into submission.

And then he was duly elected to office, with a full-throttled economic crisis at hand [the Great Depression]. Slowly but surely he seized the controls of government power, department by department, person by person, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The kids joined a Youth Movement in his name, wherethey were taught what to think. How did he get the people on his side? He did it promising jobs to the jobless, money to the moneyless, and goodies for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe, and across the world.

He did it with a compliant media - Did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and...change. And the people surely got what they voted for. (Look it up if you think I am exaggerating.) Read your history books. Many people objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and made fun of. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though.

Don't forget that Germany was the most educated, cultured country in Europe It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And in less than six years - a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency - it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong, close my eyes, have another latte and ignore what is transpiring around me.

Some people scoff at me; others laugh or think I am foolish, naive, or both.. Perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe - and why I believe it. I pray I am wrong. But, I do not think I am.

If al-Qaeda, the Taliban and the rest of the Looney Tunes brigade want to kick America to death, they had better move in quickly and grab a piece of the action before Barack Obama finishes the job himself. Never in the history of the United States has a president worked so actively against the interests of his own people - not even Jimmy Carter.

Obama's problem is that he does not know who the enemy is. To him, the enemy does not squat in caves in Waziristan, clutching automatic weapons and reciting the more militant verses from the Koran: instead, it sits around at tea parties in Kentucky quoting from the US Constitution. Obama is not at war with terrorists, but with his Republican fellow citizens. He has never abandoned the campaign trail.

That is why he opened Pandora's Box by publishing the Justice Department's legal opinions on water boarding and other hardline interrogation techniques. He cynically subordinated the national interest to his partisan desire to embarrass the republicans. Then he had to rush to Langley, Virginia to try to reassure a demoralized CIA that had just discovered the President of the United States was an even more formidable foe than al-Qaeda.

"Don't be discouraged by what's happened the last few weeks," he told intelligence officers. Is he kidding? Thanks to him, al-Qaeda knows the private interrogation techniques available to the US intelligence agencies and can train its operatives to withstand them - or would do so, if they had not already been outlawed.

So, next time a senior al-Qaeda hood is captured, all the CIA can do is ask him nicely if he would care to reveal when a major population centre is due to be hit by a terror spectacular, or which American city is about to be irradiated by a dirty bomb. Your view of this situation will be dictated by one simple criterion: whether or not you watched the people jumping from the twin towers...

"Congressional Democrats will soon put forward their legislative proposals for reforming health care. Should they succeed, tens of millions of Americans will potentially be joining a new public insurance program and the federal government will increasingly be involved in treatment decisions.

Not long ago, I would have applauded this type of government expansion. Born and raised in Canada, I once believed that government health care is compassionate and equitable. It is neither.

My views changed in medical school. Yes, everyone in Canada is covered by a "single payer" -- the government. But Canadians wait for practically any procedure or diagnostic test or specialist consultation in the public system.

The problems were brought home when a relative had difficulty walking. He was in chronic pain. His doctor suggested a referral to a neurologist; an MRI would need to be done, then possibly a referral to another specialist. The wait would have stretched to roughly a year. If surgery was needed, the wait would be months more. Not wanting to stay confined to his house, he had the surgery done in the U.S., at the Mayo Clinic, and paid for it himself.

Such stories are common. For example, Sylvia de Vries, an Ontario woman, had a 40-pound fluid-filled tumor removed from her abdomen by an American surgeon in 2006. Her Michigan doctor estimated that she was within weeks of dying, but she was still on a wait list for a Canadian specialist.

Indeed, Canada's provincial governments themselves rely on American medicine. Between 2006 and 2008, Ontario sent more than 160 patients to New York and Michigan for emergency neurosurgery -- described by the Globe and Mail newspaper as "broken necks, burst aneurysms and other types of bleeding in or around the brain."

Only half of ER patients are treated in a timely manner by national and international standards, according to a government study. The physician shortage is so severe that some towns hold lotteries, with the winners gaining access to the local doc.

Overall, according to a study published in Lancet Oncology last year, five-year cancer survival rates are higher in the U.S. than those in Canada. Based on data from the Joint Canada/U.S. Survey of Health (done by Statistics Canada and the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics), Americans have greater access to preventive screening tests and have higher treatment rates for chronic illnesses. No wonder: To limit the growth in health spending, governments restrict the supply of health care by rationing it through waiting. The same survey data show, as June and Paul O'Neill note in a paper published in 2007 in the Forum for Health Economics & Policy, that the poor under socialized medicine seem to be less healthy relative to the nonpoor than their American counterparts.

Ironically, as the U.S. is on the verge of rushing toward government health care, Canada is reforming its system in the opposite direction. In 2005, Canada's supreme court struck down key laws in Quebec that established a government monopoly of health services. Claude Castonguay, who headed the Quebec government commission that recommended the creation of its public health-care system in the 1960s, also has second thoughts. Last year, after completing another review, he declared the system in "crisis" and suggested a massive expansion of private services -- even advocating that public hospitals rent facilities to physicians in off-hours.

And the medical establishment? Dr. Brian Day, an orthopedic surgeon, grew increasingly frustrated by government cutbacks that reduced his access to an operating room and increased the number of patients on his hospital waiting list. He built a private hospital in Vancouver in the 1990s. Last year, he completed a term as the president of the Canadian Medical Association and was succeeded by a Quebec radiologist who owns several private clinics.

In Canada, private-sector health care is growing. Dr. Day estimates that 50,000 people are seen at private clinics every year in British Columbia. According to the New York Times, a private clinic opens at a rate of about one a week across the country. Public-private partnerships, once a taboo topic, are embraced by provincial governments.

In the United Kingdom, where socialized medicine was established after World War II through the National Health Service, the present Labour government has introduced a choice in surgeries by allowing patients to choose among facilities, often including private ones. Even in Sweden, the government has turned over services to the private sector.

Americans need to ask a basic question: Why are they rushing into a system of government-dominated health care when the very countries that have experienced it for so long are backing away?"

ADVICE TO REPUBLICANS ON SOTOMAYOR PLUS

Whatever the Republicans say or do, with regard to the Sotomayor nomination is of no real consequence. The Republicans shot themselves in the foot with their blind support for George W. Bush, and now they are out of power, can't do anything to stop the Obama train wreck, whether it's this nomination, excessive spending, jeopardizing our national security or health care.

Republicans need to re-group, get out of the business of mixing church with state, get out of women's wombs and start talking to the American people. There's a lot of money in the ranks of the Republicans and a lot to tell. Don't waste money like this administration is doing. Use money wisely. Buy media outlets and start telling the people the truth about this Obama big government takeover of our corporations,our health care, our financial institutions, etc. Obama is making horrendous mistakes but the people aren't allowed to know about them because the media has been compromised. What poses for a media (except for FOX, Lou Dobbs and talk radio)is nothing more than a bunch of silly people swooning over their cult leader, Obama.

As for asking Sotomayor questions: yes, pin her down on never doing again what she did with the New Haven firemen case. It was pure a racial quota decision, no more, no less. It's un-American and needs to stop.

Right now, Obama is showing that he is a Muslim sympathizer. He's throwing Israel under that bus with all the others he threw there including his white grandmother. He is doing us more harm than Sotomayor would do as one of nine. Let's see the Republicans telling the whole story about Obama. That's what an opposition party totally out of power needs to do. Two striking, Obama-friendly articles in today’s edition: (i) inviting Iranian reps to 4th of July celebrations at US embassies around the world, and (ii) taking stronger stand than previous presidents stand against Israel. I don’t know what the numbers were for the last election, but I suspect that Obama took well over 50 percent of the Jewish vote, and I am sure he will do the same next time around. I see stupid people everywhere, they are all around me, but they don’t know they are stupid.

My Response:

My cardiologist friend is convinced that somewhere along the line the younger Jews did not inherit the smart gene. With the kind of cheerleading Obama gets from the media, most Americans are unable to understand the damage he's doing and how dangerous he is to our economy and our national security. I hate to think of what's happening to our country, but as I've said 30 years of academic brainwashing has now come to fruition.

Agreed. Our only hope is that when all of these young people end up unemployed, they will think differently. Re Israel, there is no room for error, as any attack on Israel would wipe it out and make any retribution pointless from the perspective of protecting Israel.

My Response:

The only person in this country who could get away with causing Israel's destruction is Obama. It wouldn't be viewed as his fault no matter what he does. And he really couldn't care less. His sympathies and most of his funding comes from Muslims.

I am going to include part of it here because it reveals what happened the the author "Robin" -- no last name -- and reminded me of my own experiences during the time when I was actively supporting Hillary Clinton:

"...In February of 2008, I saw a new client, a bright and sensitive young woman who came in looking like she just escaped a war zone. In some ways she had; she had innocently shared with others at her job that she voted for Hillary rather than Obama. Immediately she was being targeted for abuse that put her in fear for not only her job, but her life.

We both suddenly became aware that something had grown really dark in the Democratic Party. I started hearing about many other incidents where loyal Democrats were being physically and emotionally threatened for supporting Hillary. A woman in Berkeley had her front window broken because it displayed a poster of Hillary. Randi Rhodes, an Air America talk show leftist, called Hillary a f______ witch. (Rhodes was recently promoted to a national talk radio show, illustrating another disturbing trend: the deafening silence about what Rush Limbaugh has dubbed the new "thug-ocracy.)

An acquaintance had her car broken into, and the only item stolen was a NoObama bumper sticker. A South Park episode featured an episode where a nuclear weapon was being aimed at Hillary's genitals. My local greeting card store sold very flattering cards about Obama, insulting ones about Hillary, and a Hillary "nutcracker." When I complained, the young male manager literally laughed in my face.

Things went from bad to worse when Sarah Palin entered the scene. When Geraldine Ferraro ran for Vice President, there was no debasement of her character, no sexual threats. But with Palin, a full scale "wilding" ensued that chillingly reminded me of the random sexual attacks on women by gangs of men in New York. She was called every vile name in the book by both male and female liberals.

Actress Sarah Bernhardt hoped a gang of black males would rape her. When Palin's church was torched with children inside, the press was missing in action (somehow I imagine the press would have been all over this if Obama's church were torched). Not only was the misogyny disgusting, but the classism was abhorrent. The Democrats, by ridiculing Palin's voice and her education, were acting like arrogant snobs. The party had changed, I had changed, and the differences looked irreconcilable.

The final straw for me was when a close friend flew into a rage at me when she learned I wasn't supporting Obama. The political became personal when she began impugning my character. Worse yet, she tried to intimidate me into changing my mind by threatening to dump me.

Suddenly a light went on. The peace and love and flower power of the old left was dead and gone (if it even existed to begin with except in my imagination). The Democrats had morphed into a power hungry Thought Police, and I was done with them. My new motto in life: don't PC on me.

So this is my letter of amends, and I hope that I can be forgiven by all whom I've offended. I knew not what the heck I was doing. But now the problem is: how in the world does one be a conservative these days? How to stay brave and committed when conservatives are being targeted, punished, and shunned on a daily basis? How to sleep at night knowing that the country I have finally come to love may be destroyed from within by a massive Big Brother government?

I guess I'll just have to do a step one, as we 12 stepper's call it, and turn it all over to my Higher Power.

A victory for the hysterical Oprah Winfrey, the mad racist preacher Jeremiah Wright, the US mainstream media who abandoned any sense of objectivity long ago, Europeans who despise America largely because they depend on her, comics who claim to be dangerous and fearless but would not dare attack genuinely powerful special interest groups. A victory for Obama-worshippers everywhere. A victory for the cult of the cult. A man who has done little with his life but has written about his achievements as if he had found the cure for cancer in between winning a marathon and building
a nuclear reactor with his teeth. Victory for style over substance, hyperbole over history, rabble-raising over reality.

A victory for Hollywood , the most dysfunctional community in the world. Victory for Streisand, Spielberg, Soros, Moore, and Sarandon. Victory for those who prefer welfare to will and interference to independence. For those who settle for group think and herd mentality rather than those who fight for individual initiative and the right to be out of step with meager political fashion.

Victory for a man who is no friend of freedom. He and his people have already stated that media has to be controlled so as to be balanced, without realizing the extraordinary irony within that statement. Like most liberal zealots, the Obama worshippers constantly speak of Fox and Limbaugh, when the vast bulk of television stations and newspapers are drastically liberal and anti-conservative. Senior Democrat Chuck Schumer said that just as pornography should be censored, so should talk radio. In other words, one of the few free and open means of popular expression may well be cornered and beaten by bullies who even in triumph cannot tolerate
any criticism and opposition.

A victory for those who believe the state is better qualified to raise children than the family, for those who prefer teachers' unions to teaching and for those who are naively convinced that if the West is sufficiently weak towards its enemies, war and terror will dissolve as quickly as the tears on the face of a leftist celebrity.

A victory for social democracy even after most of Europe has come to the painful conclusion that social democracy leads to mediocrity, failure, unemployment, inflation, higher taxes and economic stagnation. A victory for intrusive lawyers, banal sentimentalists, social extremists and urban snobs.

OBAMA'S RISE TO POWER AND HIS LIKELY EFFECT ON OUR COUNTRY

I am a student of history. Professionally. I have written 15 books in six languages, and have studied it all my life. I think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes, these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten - fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back. Why?

We learn that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has 'loaned' two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom, or why, or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700B we all argued about so strenuously just this past
September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of 'we the people', who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why? We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and we no longer teach our founding documents, showing why we are exceptional and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, and school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (now violently in California over a proposition that is so 'controversial' that it wants marriage to remain between one man and one woman!). Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago? We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then allow mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, Social Security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government, and our education system is worse than a joke. (I teach college and know precisely what I am talking about.) The list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x ten.. And we are at war with an enemy we cannot name for fear of offending people of the same religion, an enemy who cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

Now we have elected President a man no one knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla, Alaska . All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling, if not downright scary. Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a 'mandatory civilian defense force' stronger than our military for use inside our borders. No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over, and then demand he explain it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more important to the media.

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: change. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning.

I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the savior was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they did know was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed. He edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory and promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his 'brown shirts' would bully them into submission. And then, he was duly elected to office as full-throttled economic crisis was at hand [the Great Depression]. Slowly but surely he seized the controls of government power, department-by-department,person-by-person, bureaucracy-by-bureaucracy. The kids joined a Youth Movement in his name.

MY THOUGHTS: I DO NOT VIEW OUR PRESIDENT AS EVIL THOUGH I DO SEE HIM AS MISGUIDED. I SEE THE PARALLELS BETWEEN OBAMA'S RISE TO POWER AND HITLER'S RISE TO POWER, BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE OBAMA INTENDS TO DESTROY JEWS OR ANY OTHER GROUP OF PEOPLE. WHAT I DO SEE IS THE WITLESS DESTRUCTION OF OUR COUNTRY AS A STRONG AND INFLUENTIAL PRESENCE IN THE WORLD. OBAMA IS PUTTING OUR NATION INTO BANKRUPTCY AND ALLOWING ROGUE NATIONS AND THEIR PROXY'S, HAMAS AND HEZBOLLAH, TO PREVAIL. HE IS INCREASING OUR DEBT TO CHINA, AND CHINA MAY USE THIS POWER OVER US TO DIMINISH OUR POWER. AMERICANS NEED TO WAKE UP! New Reality Show Alert: ‘The Cougar’ Wednesdays at 10 PM.
TV's Land new series The Cougar puts a buzzworthy twist on dating reality shows.

The show follows 40-year-old Stacey Anderson as she looks for Mr. Right among 20 eligible bachelors. The twist? The bachelors are all in their twenties! The youngest suitor is 21 years old, which means he can legally share a toast with the sophisticated bachelorette.

Stacy, who is a successful realtor, believes men her age aren't spontaneous enough and lack a zest for life. She also believes there's a double standard that is put on women when they date younger men.

My Review of the Show: Stacey Anderson is a stunning 40 year old. Whether she has much more to offer is a mystery, because the conversations between her and each of the young men are so banal, tedious, and really not worth the footage. Most of these men are not only way too young, but not up to the level of any intelligent 40-year-old woman. If the show doesn't find more appealing younger men, it will likely go the way of hush puppies.

I attended the Atlanta Tea Party with the 20,000 other people who made their way to our Capitol. The disconnect between what I saw first hand and what was reported only added to my distrust of the mainstream media. People were there to express their concern about the amount of tax money being spent in the stimulus packages, the earmarks contained therein, and the increased deficit we are leaving to our children and our grandchildren. Families attended. They were polite, orderly and clearly reasonable folks who had serious worries about the direction of our country because of this enormous debt.

What needs to be remembered is the difference between these Americans and the ones who are gathering to advance the Obama agenda. The people at the tea parties took time from their lives, printed up their signs and went to voice their opinion in a civilized manner. There was not one incident of disorder. What needs to be emphasized is that they were not paid, were not given food, and were not bused in by ACORN or Unions. These were people who work and spent their own money to be there. The media demeaned their time and their effort as did many on the left. I thought what makes America great and different is our willingness to allow dissent. Apparently, that uniqueness is about to change. The propaganda media and the Obama supporters is now attempting to quell the voices of opposition. Isn't that an irony coming from the left?

OBAMA'S AUDACITY OF DENIAL

How many of us believe what we see? Get over it. You’re not supposed to believe what you see. You’re supposed to believe what Obama and his coterie of swooners tell you to believe. You saw what you believed was Obama bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia. “That was not a bow,” said Robert Gibbs, Obama’s press secretary. “It was a handshake.” Hey, we can call it the drop handshake. You drop forward from the waist and shake the hand of the person in front of you. Can you shake hands with someone about two inches shorter than you are without dropping your torso forward from your waist to reach their hand? Obviously, Obama can’t do that. And we thought he was so athletic. I guess some of us can’t shake hands without bowing…uh oh…I mean dropping.

When the commentators talk about whether or not Obama bowed, they are missing the point. Our attention should be directed toward the incessant lying by Obama and his Obama cheerleading squad. Aren’t you sick of being lied to? That’s what you’re getting every day in every way from this administration. They have been lying from the beginning of his campaign and now they’re doing it in office while we suffer the consequences. Recall that “he never heard Rev. Jeremiah Wright say the things he said.” The list could go on for at least two pages—a list of the lies told since Obama came on the scene.

You can’t fool all of the people all the time, but it isn’t necessary. A bare majority is all that’s needed.

It offers a sounding board for all those who believe that only Muslims have a right to self-determination, that Gaza remains “occupied” even though Israel disengaged in 2005, and that Israel - a sovereign and legitimate nation - doesn’t have the right to defend itself against attack.

Bisharat is a Palestinian-American law professor whose professional mission is the indictment of Israel for war crimes, no matter how incredulous the argument. He begins his piece with the statement: “Chilling testimony by Israeli soldiers substantiates charges that Israel’s Gaza Strip assault entailed grave violations of international law.” Actually, it would be more accurate to describe this “chilling testimony” as rumors circulated by an anti-Israel activist. The fact that it was subsequently exposed as unsubstantiated like the Mohammed al-Dura defamation a decade ago that led to the deaths of hundreds of Israelis in the Second Intifada, merited scant attention by Bisharat or the Times for that matter.

Bisharat argues that while Palestinians firing missiles indiscriminately at Israeli towns and cities constituted a war crime, Israel’s response to such aggression constituted a war crime as well. It is the moral equivalency of the two - equating the actions of the aggressor with the response of the victim - that is offensive, but the fact that the New York Times chose to give it op-ed status is repugnant.

Bisharat lists six “offenses” committed by Israel in the Gaza War, each of which is deceptive:

1. “Violating its duty to protect the civilian population of the Gaza Strip. Despite Israel’s 2005 “disengagement” from Gaza, the territory remains occupied. Israel unleashed military firepower against a people it is legally bound to protect.”

As Dore Gold wrote in an analysis after the Gaza disengagement, what creates an “occupation” is the existence of a military government which “exercises the functions of government” making Bisharat’s statement nonsense. Israel uprooted army bases, entire towns, synagogues, the livelihoods of thousands of Israelis, and even forced them to remove their dead from these communities and rebury them in Israeli cemeteries. If no Israeli military government is exercising its authority or any of “the functions of government” in the Gaza Strip - and none is - then there can be no “occupation” and Bisharat’s statement cannot make it so.

More to the point, an entire industry of successful Israeli greenhouses was subsequently purchased for the Palestinians in Gaza after the disengagement - much of it by wealthy, idealistic American Jews. In return, the Palestinians elected an Islamist government that not only destroyed this lucrative Palestinian industry, but undermined the fabric of Palestinian society by firing thousands of missiles at Israel’s civilian population rather than tending to the more “mundane” aspects of statehood like paving roads, collecting taxes, creating jobs, providing healthcare and other social services, arranging garbage collection and educating their children in matters other than martyrdom and the glories of Paradise. If any entity has failed to “protect the civilian population of the Gaza Strip,” it is most assuredly Hamas.

2. “Imposing collective punishment in the form of a blockade, in violation of Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention. In June 2007, after Hamas took power in the Gaza Strip, Israel imposed suffocating restrictions on trade and movement.”

Article 33 provides that no persons under foreign occupation are allowed to be punished for an offense they did not personally commit. In making collective punishment a war crime, the drafters of the Geneva Conventions had in mind the reprisal killings of World Wars I and II where the Germans executed Belgian villagers in mass retribution for resistance activity and carried out collective punishments against entire towns to suppress resistance. Aside from the fact that Israel was not an "occupying force" or that the Palestinians were not "protected persons" within the meaning of Article 33, no such actions took place by the Israelis against the Palestinians during the recent Gaza War.

If however, Bisharat was speaking of the blockade Israel imposed on Gaza to prevent Hamas from smuggling further weapons into the territory or rebuilding its terrorist infrastructures, it should be noted that Israel’s actions are no different from the American embargoes against Iran and Korea yet no accusation has ever been made that the US is committing a war crime by imposing “collective punishment” on the Iranians or the Koreans. Only Israel seems to merit that “honor”.

3. “Deliberately attacking civilian targets”.

According to international law, high-value targets protected by civilian human shields can still be attacked so long as every effort is made to minimize civilian deaths. The unfortunate truth is that the Geneva Conventions have become more of a sword used by terrorists to kill civilians, than a shield to protect civilians from terrorists. As Noah Pollak writes in Commentary: “The laws of war permit attacking a civilian object (ie: a school, home, mosque or building) only when it is making an effective contribution to military action and a definite military advantage is gained by its destruction” and Article 51 of the 1977 amendment to the 1949 Geneva Convention extends this provision by providing that: "The presence of the civilian population or individual civilians shall not be used to render certain areas (ie: civilian objects) immune from military operations, in particular in attempts to shield these military objects from attacks or to shield, favor or impede military operations."

Hamas does not, nor has it ever acted in accordance with the Geneva Conventions and, as a matter of military strategy, consciously targets civilians in Israel and uses its own civilian population as human shields to protect its military assets. Indeed, its goal is to maximize the number of deaths and injuries among vulnerable civilians for propaganda purposes. Its foot soldiers do not wear military uniforms, deliberately hide amongst civilian populations, and use ambulances, mosques, schools, private homes, playgrounds, the Islamic University of Gaza, and UN buildings not as “civilian objects” but as military installations (not to mention using women pretending to be sick or pregnant, and even children as carriers of lethal explosives) knowing that none of their leaders will ever be charged with war crimes. That right, it seems, is reserved only for Israel.

4. “Willfully killing civilians without military justification.”

Bisharat’s condemnation of Israel as “willingly killing civilians” in not only factually incorrect but an abomination. In Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces dropped leaflets, used radio and TV stations, sent text messages and even amassed the complete list of cellular telephone numbers of Gaza Palestinians which, through an automated telephone response system in Arabic, warned residents to evacuate targeted buildings prior to Israeli air strikes. What other army in the world has ever conducted war in this fashion?

5. “Deliberately employing disproportionate force.”

In Gaza, Israel’s actions were justified under international law. Article 51 of the UN Charter reserves to every nation the right to engage in self-defense against armed attacks. The only restriction is that their actions must be "proportionate" – an ambiguous term at best. Unfortunately, no way has yet been found to conduct even the most justified war without causing harm to innocent civilians and Bisharat knows this. Was Cold Harbor proportionate to Fort Sumter? If Hamas can fire missiles into Ashkelon, would a proportionate response be for Israel to fire missiles into Gaza City? Was the war in the Pacific a proportionate response to the attack on Pearl Harbor? During World War II, British bombers firebombed German cities in response to Nazi bombings against civilian targets in British cities. While some 60,000 civilians in British cities were killed by Nazi bombers, the Allied aerial counter-offensive to eliminate that threat cost 600,000 German lives – a ratio of 10 to 1. Was that a “proportionate” response? Australian soldiers fought in Vietnam, East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan and sometimes caused more casualties among civilians than among the enemy as the US has done in Iraq. Yet, despite these actions, no one would think to call the Australians or the Americans murderers. Thus, to condemn the Israelis as “deliberately employing disproportionate force” in response to over 8,000 Hamas missile attacks against its civilian population is the height of hypocrisy.

6. “Illegal use of weapons, including white phosphorus.”

Although white phosphorous in artillery shells, bombs and missiles can cause serious burns and spark fires on the ground, militaries are permitted under the laws of warfare to use it to create smoke screens to hide troop movements as well as to illuminate battlefields at night, but you wouldn’t think so after reading Bisharat’s editorial suggesting that Israel used it as a weapon.

While white phosphorous can and has been used as a weapon in the past, such was not the case in Gaza. It was, however, the case in Fallujah in November 2004 when US forces used white phosphorous as a weapon and not just for illumination or camouflage. Nor was the US alone in such use. In World War II, white phosphorus mortar bombs, shells, rockets and grenades were used extensively by American, British, and even Japanese forces, and later, it was used in Korea, Vietnam and Chechnya in both smoke-generating and anti-personnel roles, although Bisharat fails to mention this in his editorial.

Rather, the impression is created that Israel’s use of white phosphorous was “illegal” thereby implying that Israel committed a war crime. What he also neglected to mention was the January 14th, 2009 Ha’aretz article noting that Hamas had fired a white phosphorus mortar shell into southern Israel, but since Israeli civilians were the intended victims of the attack, it was not worth mentioning.

There was once a time when the New York Times would never publish biased editorials such as this. Those days are clearly gone. Rather, it seems that the narrative has become more important than the facts, especially when that narrative aims at the demonization of Israel.

THE INROADS OF THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION

First, a note updating my pessimistic view of the Somali pirate hostage taking. I stand corrected, and thank the Navy Seals and others who carried out the rescue operation. Well done!

But, as the the Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report (free subscription required) makes clear, the news is not all good.

The Muslim Brotherhood legacy organizations have recently made tremendous strides in occupying positions of influence within the Obama administration, at the same time the FBI and other law enforcement officials have move to cut ties to the very same organization.

The MB has only one political agenda-its own. Its organizations strongly backed George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004, (remember the famous picture of Bush hugging the al Arian family?). Hoping for friendlier pastures, the groups switched their support to the Dems in ‘08. So far, it appears to be paying off. Big time.

The architect is Dr. John Esposito, a long time defender of the MB and the head of the Saudi-financed Georgetown University Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at the Walsh School of Foreign Service.

The same Dr. Esposito who maintained prior to 9/11 that radical Islam was essentially a myth and certainly no danger. It is hard to imagine any academic being so consistently wrong in their professed field of expertise maintaining much influence, but there he is, deeply enmeshed with all the major MB legacy groups in the country.

What is fascinating is that all the same small groups appear in every event, and, if needed, new groups are created, but all led by the same small group of people. Recall that the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) he’s a paid membership of less than 2,000-a drop of more than 80 percent since 9/11. Yet it continues to cast itself as the premiere voice of Muslim in America, and is often treated as such.
To be clear: these groups have a clearly enunciated and never renounced policy of toppling the government, hollowing out the institutional structures, and imposing the caliphate here, where Sharia law is the law of the land. As I have often said, if they want to openly join the political process and espouse this, they are welcome and they will be marginalized, even within the Muslim community.

It is the fact that these organizations are front groups for a foreign movement that wants to end our political system (while supporting radical Islam) that I object to.
First is the announcement by the Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy (CSID), a sort of umbrella organization for many of the MB groups in the United States, that Secretary of State Clinton (along with a senior MB leader from Britain who has been banned from the United States previously will be keynote speakers at their 10th anniversary celebration.

It is hard to imagine the vetting process of the Secretary letting this one through, and time will tell if it really on her agenda or an attempt to hype the event. Here is what GMBDR says on CSID:

CSID was founded in 1998 largely by the efforts of Georgetown University academic Dr. Esposito who, during the 1990’s, had served in the State Department as a “foreign affairs analyst.” Many members of the early CSID board were associated with the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), the American Muslim Council, and the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC). For example, past CSID board members included Jamal Barzinji and Taha Al-Alwani, both important Brotherhood leaders who are closely associated with the now defunct SAAR Foundation, still under investigation by the U.S. government. Both Barzinji and Al-Alwani helped to establish many of the most important U.S. Brotherhood organizations. The current CSID Vice-Chair, Antony Sullivan, has many ties to U.S. Brotherhood groups including the Association of Muslim Social Scientists (AMSS), the United Association for Studies and Research (USAR), and the Circle of Tradition and Progress (COTP), a group whose other founding members included Youssef Qaradawi, the most important leader of the global Muslim Brotherhood. From its inception, CSID has argued that the U.S. government should support Islamist movements in foreign countries and has received financial support from the National Endowment for Democracy and the United States Institute of Peace.

Dr. Esposito, who will also be attending the conference, has been a long-time supporter of the global Muslim Brotherhood and has espoused views consistent with Brotherhood doctrine. During the 1990’s was known for his claims that Islamic fundamentalism was, in fact, democratic and posed no threat to the U.S. Dr. Esposito has at least a dozen past or present affiliations with global Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas organizations including having served on the advisory boards of the Institute of Islamic Political Thought in the U.K. and the United Association for Studies and Research in the U.S. and has served with global Muslim Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi on the Steering Committee of the Circle of Tradition and Progress. In 2005, Saudi prince Alaweed bin Talal, a financial supporter of the global Muslim Brotherhood donated $20 million to the Center for Muslim Christian Understanding at Georgetown, headed by Dr. Esposito.

The second is the naming Dalia Mogahed as one of the Muslim members of the President’s Advisory Council Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. She is (surprised gasps all around) an Esposito protege.

Ms. Mogahed, who was born in Egypt and lived in the U.S. since the age of 5, is the executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies and the co-author of a book with Dr. Esposito suggesting that majority of the world’s Muslims support some form of democracy. Dr. Esposito is also a member of the Gallup Center along with Ahmed Younis, previously a National Director for the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), part of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood. In 2003, Ms. Mogahed was identified in 2003 as the Outreach Coordinator for the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh (ICP) whose co-founder recently lost a DOE security clearance and whose Imam will probably be deported on immigration violations. Ms. Mogahed is the daughter of Elsayed Mogahed, an Egyptian immigrant who is a former engineering scientist at the University of Wisconsin and director of the Islamic Center of Madison (ICM). The website of the ICM links mainly to U.S. Muslim Brotherhood organizations and Souheil Ghannouchi, the President of the Muslim American Society (MAS), was ICM Imam and President for several years. The MAS is part of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood and closest to the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.

So, there we have it. And it isn’t pretty.

OBAMA'S STORM TROOPERS WAGE CLASS WARFARE

OBAMA, BEHOLDEN TO UNIONS TO GET RE-ELECTED

Welfare is coming back larger than ever. Clinton cut welfare rolls and by doing so, people were motivated to work. Millions went off the dole and into the work force. A lifetime limit of five years on the dole was set for family benefits. That is all about to change.

The stimulus bill just signed by Obama is going to reward states to increase their welfare case load far more than it ever was under AFDC. The overall cost for the next 10 years is estimated to reach $1.34 trillion.

Big question: Why do this now when it will hurt our recovery?

Obama was elected by the efforts of ACORN, the Unions and the mainstream media. Hillary's supporters were shouted and shoved out of the way at caucuses by both ACORN and Union organizers.

The unions have never liked workfare, and they fought against it when Clinton promoted it. Why? Because the presence of all these additional workers reduced the wages of union workers flooding the work force with too many people willing to work as non-union workers. So now it didn't require a union worker to screw in a bulb and then wait for the other union worker to turn on the switch.

Well, guess what, folks?

Obama, the great Messiah and role model for his people is ready to reward them again for what they did to get him elected--give them welfare checks to sit on their duffs. Here come the welfare queens sitting around and making more and more babies out of wedlock to increase their checks. What havoc this will wreak on our country with all the other problems he's compounding.

We are on a precipice in the world of finance because there will certainly be a changing paradigm. The direction we take can decide whether we will remain a world power. I fear Obama could send us off a cliff. A nation’s financial system is the key to its prosperity. The better capitalized and developed the financial industry, the greater the strength of the country. As the Pulitzer Prize winner, Daniel Yergin put it “The era of easy globalization is over. The power of the state is reasserting itself.”

The U.S. may become a relatively slow-growing economy like Europe and Japan with aggressively regulated financial systems. This could seriously curtail financing entrepreneurial risk and growth. China and India, on the other hand will use free-wheeling offshore global hedge firms, private equity firms, and other investment vehicles to help fuel huge expansion and control throughout the rest of the world. As a result, the current power shift in manufacturing away from the West to Asia could very well lead to Pacific Rim financial dominance over the West in a very short time. WE DON’T WANT TO HAVE AMERICAN COMPANIES FORCED TO RELY LARGELY ON EUROPEAN, JAPANESE AND CHINESE BANKS FOR FINANCING. If we do that, our financial services industry will most assuredly go the way of the U.S. auto industry.

To avoid this result we need a team of financial policy gurus from both the public and the private sectors. I mean really smart people without a political agenda. Of course, they will require political backing, so it would be wise to tap some of the smart and savvy leaders in Congress, and there are a few.

Believe it or not, even some Democrats have the know how to be in this brain trust. Chuck Schumer is smart enough. On the other side of the aisle, Richard Shelby comes to mind. And we’ll have to do what our law enforcement does, work with some of the bad guys to get the rest of the bad guys. In this brain trust, we'll have to include some of the people tarnished by this downturn because they understand the financial world. They understood it well enough to make themselves rich at the expense of our country and the global financial world. Yes, the inmates will have to run the Asylum for a while, but we need to pick the ones who are cured of their malady and about to be released. Some of the names that come to mind are Robert Rubin, John Corzine, and Larry Summers, providing Summers would not be a puppet for the socialist regime we now have in power. Lots of others are out there.

I know I have no standing to speak except that I am self taught, a lawyer, and I have a sincere desire to see our country remain on top.

WHO'S AT FAULT FOR OUR FINANCIAL CRISIS?

Today the financial world is a very dangerous place and our leaders need to take the blinders off.

We do have a major financial crisis. So many are blamed--Democrats, who insisted on banks lending money to high risk borrowers, inept bank regulators, credit rating agencies, and the Federal Reserve's monetary policy (too low interest rates). But those who were most at fault are the bankers and investment bankers themselves. Out of sheer greed, they concocted an elaborate, legal, but risky scheme to obscure risk that is tanking the world economy. Our world needs financial globalization. If it fails, the large financial institutions and their regulators will have to bear a large part of the blame.

Why are they the cause? Why isn't it a result of the sub prime loans and the housing bubble that burst? Here's the story: Traditionally, a bank would lend a buyer the funds to purchase a home and then hold that mortgage for the duration of the loan. During the life of the loan, the bank was responsible for the risk of the mortgage. In this new economy, banks resorted to a different system to come to terms with risk. The bank collected all its loans into a single pool and divided the collected sum into separate pieces called interest income streams. In other words, the banks securitized the loans, selling off the repackaged individual income streams (now called mortgage-backed securities) to the global market. The banks also encouraged their independent, off-balance-sheet vehicles to buy these mortgage-backed securities, some of which held pieces of mortgages that were rated subprime. The large financial institutions made huge fees selling these bundles to their own independent investment vehicles.

Then things got really complicated. The independent off-balance-sheet vehicles, using the just purchased bundles as collateral, went to the global credit markets and borrowed money by issuing commercial paper. Traditionally, commercial paper was a highly safe form of debt investment, widely used as one of the safe backbones of money market funds. The burst of the housing bubble set this course into a downward spiral. Financial stocks collapsed. The bankers faced no risk once they had sold the bundles to the off-the-book vehicles. They did it--risk free risk with enormous profits. The regulators and the rating agencies were so lax. They never asked to look at the whole picture. Never looked at all the sub prime exposure, thinking it was tied to real estate so the debt was securitized. What they failed to understand was the real estate was a bubble about to burst because the value of the real estate had dipped below the amount of the mortgages. They thought real estate prices always went up, but that was their stupid mistake. And now we're all losing because of it.

To understand this, think of inflated grades in our schools--consistently giving inflated grades so we never really know the true aptitude and ability of the students. Same with the bundling of the mortgages and the clever risk avoidance.

When will we ever learn??? Obama is not the answer. He is into a redistribution of the wealth and class warfare. Let's hope he's a one-term president replaced by someone who wants America to once again be the shining city on the hill. We must stop allowing the left wing media to select our leaders by destroying competitors to their politically correct choice. Obama has a toxic agenda for our country.

BRISTOL PALIN AND RIGHT WING BLINDNESS

Though I thought Sarah Palin was a breath of fresh air, I was always distressed by her rigid view on the matter of reproductive rights. Today, our media has sexualized everything. That's what our kids are seeing. Inevitably, this leads to sexual activity at younger and younger ages, and the consequences are alarming--huge increase in both STDs and teen pregnancy. The right wing fanatics who advocate abstinence are delusional. Their firm stand against both birth control and abortion is further proof of their detachment from reality.

Sex and pornography is one of the nation's most profitable businesses, and it's all over the Internet. If you don't think our kids are seeing it, then you can join with the delusional right wing. What to do about it? Great question. Maybe the Obama Messiah team can figure it out. They seem to have answers for everything. But most assuredly, denying birth control, abortion and realistic sex education to young people plus forcing them to have these babies is definitely not the answer. I hope this pro-life movement continues to wane. It's one of our nation's greatest mistakes, and it will prove to be the demise of the Republican Party if they persist in promoting it.

NEED A BETTER WORD THAN "COUGAR."

We need a better word than "cougar." The image of a sleek predatory cat may capture a certain aspect of how some women might stalk and shred an unsuspecting younger man. But doesn't it conjure a certain single-minded desperation with a sexual focus? What about vivacious, smart, experienced, funny and super social ladies who just want to go on dates and see what happens? So many older women are healthy, youthful, beautiful and alluring to men of any age. Why should they confine themselves to old men who are tired and needy. Every older woman who seeks the companionship of a younger man is not a predatory cougar on the prowl for hot sex? We need a better term for these woman. What can we call them?

Is anyone getting as fed up as I am with the media's worship of this self-proclaimed savior who's done nothing yet to warrant this fawning? Recall how the anti-war screamers used to carry on like banshees every time George Bush attacked anywhere and civilians were killed. Where are those screamers? Obama had successful air strike attacks over Pakistan and destroyed several suspected terrorists as well as some of the "innocent civilians." Not a word from the media nor from the anti-war critics about the collateral damage. Not that I want him to be criticized for these attacks, but I say this only to point out the duplicity of the media. I want a President to kill our enemies who want to kill us, but when Bush did it, the nuts screamed loudly, ignoring that he was trying to protect us and so he did--at least we haven't been attacked since 9/11. And I am no Bush fan, but let's give credit where it's due, and let's be even-handed. Stop this blind worship of Obama. When he makes mistakes, which he will surely do, and is actually doing now, let's hear the truth. At the moment, he's making a huge blunder with this stimulus package...it's not stimulus unless it's designed to help business create jobs. Instead, he's giving money to people who will not spend it, nor will they create jobs or give a boost to our economy. Obama is pushing for a free hand to the unions, and that will be the kiss of death to the businesses that already have serious problems competing with companies in other parts of the world.

Most solutions now call for realism instead of this left wing indulgence and lofty rhetoric that says nothing. Obama is a mere mortal and his errors need to be addressed. We can no longer trust the media. They are so smitten, they can't see reality.

FLINGS WITH BAD BOYS

Flings with bad boys are poignant reminders that at any given moment what you thought would be appealing is no longer appealing, and that’s why women need flings in addition to their long term commitments. Or while waiting for Mr. Right to come along, there’s no reason to pine away in loneliness. Flings are not to be confused with serious relationships. Of course, it could grow into the real thing, but that’s definitely a long shot. Flings are a category unto themselves. These are not affairs. Affairs occur when one or both are married, and that’s a whole different moral complexity. I don’t know very many married people who haven’t at one time or another considered having an affair, or, in fact, had one. Many times, married friends have called me to say they are frenzied with desire for someone other than his or her spouse. It’s normal. What’s unpredictable is when people cross the line.

Years ago, one of my married older friends, whom I would vote least likely to have an affair, was having one with her chiropractor, who I might add, was also married. This was during my acting days—I was playing the part of Maggie the Cat in an off Broadway Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and my friend was playing the role of Big Momma. That should tell you why I was so surprised that she was tumbling around with her chiropractor. Affairs have torn families apart, even nations for that matter. The bad thing about affairs is that there is so much at risk—precisely why they are so damn enticing.

Flings, on the other hand, are freebies and rarely cause upheaval to people we care about. Singles can fling at will. True, the thrill is not as heightened as it is when home wrecking is at stake and lies have to be told, and meetings have to be clandestine. Even sex has to be hurried and sometimes played out in the back seat of cars on remote country roads. A fling is quite delicious, at least for the first week. It can’t go on too much longer or it could become a relationship, to which I say watch your step. New flings are like coming home to a great big package on your front porch. Who doesn’t like a beautifully wrapped surprise gift? And you never know what’s in the package until you tear off all the wrappings—a mystery therein that keeps our blood flowing and our hearts beating.

The other great beauty of a fling is that you don’t have to be concerned about his age or his occupation because he isn’t going to be permanent. He’s a sweet tidbit that you indulge in even while staying on your diet most of the time. Mind you, it’s not for the feint of heart because he is not reliable and may even have a permanent girlfriend who has priority. The best fling types are bad boys, not ex-cons or drug pushers or even scam artists. But what I mean is someone who is just not right for you for any number of reasons. Maybe he’s a race car driver or a Delta pilot or a bartender, and maybe he has some quirky needs like wanting to give you a bath or a oil rub down all over, or maybe he likes very beautiful and successful older women but feels unworthy of them. Whatever it is, it borders the dark side and is wildly attractive for a short term connection. But, just remember one thing, many bad boys are attracted to bad girls, and that is something you may not be willing to admit –that you’re a bad girl some of the time. Bad boys and girls are often unpredictable, impulsive, and they develop chameleon-like skills to survive in this upside down dating world.

If you’re lucky, flings present themselves when you need one and you’re least expecting one—that exact moment when you're both in the same place at the same time and you exchange looks with heightened desire—lust. Then a fling is a beautiful interlude. And for a chance at that, you have to be ready to jump right in and not concern yourself with the outcome. If you’ve never tried one, you don’t know what you’re missing.

TIME FOR POLITICAL CORRECTNESS TO GO

Anyone concerned with the future of America should be repelled by that sickeningly sweet brew of hypocrisy and sanctimony called "political correctness." It has poisoned a whole population of Americans who have passed through elite colleges and universities during these last 30 years. Add to that the insane notion that self-esteem has to be nurtured by incessantly repeating "good job" to kids who have done nothing extraordinary. They eat healthy food on their plate and they're told that it was a "good job." They bring home a report card of "C's" and they're told "good job." If they just do their homework, it's a "good job." If they really do something outstanding, how would they know it? Is it any wonder they aspire to nothing more than the mediocre? And why not? The kid who has excellent grades and scores is passed over at our finest prep schools, colleges and universities to make way for a minority kid who gets in with a far less stellar record, and what's more, he or she receives financial aid at the expense of others. Parents of white kids have to pay a lot more to cover the cost of tuition for minority kids even if the family of the minority kid has a substantial income of their own. It just isn't fair, but it's politically incorrect to complain about the unfairness. We’re being trampled and muzzled by political correctness.

When will Americans wake up to the fact that political correctness has to go if we want to reclaim our place of leadership and excellence in the world? We're being corrupted by these views and the leftist press that has been grossly negligent in not identifying and attacking the ongoing deterioration in all phases of our economy resulting from our politically correct educational system.

For more than 30 years, I have watched as scholarship has self-destructed. The Sixties generation, with its irreverence and confrontational style, was hell bent on making profound changes in America's political and cultural life. Now we have Americans voting who have no clue who or what they're voting for. They know nothing about our history, our structure of government or even the names of our elected leaders, some of whom they voted for.
A few months ago, Obama swooners were asked how they liked his choice of Sarah Palin as his Vice President, and they said they were thrilled with her. And how did they like Obama's support for the Iraq war? And they said they agreed with him.

Campus proponents of political correctness have convinced their students and the ill-informed media that they are the authentic reformers for a better America. Insane! Political correctness with its fascist speech codes and glorification of minorities is a travesty and a major contributing factor to our demise as a nation. Excellence has been trampled in favor of affirmative action. Rightly, merit was our goal as a nation. Now minority status is the entry requirement.

The solution is still at hand. We can bring back quality of scholarship rather than slick word play. We need to get away from oppression and victimization politics. We need free thought and free speech. Even making an offensive statement should still be a democratic right. Universities should be organized around vigorous intellectual inquiry not therapy and creature comforts. When will we get sick of hearing someone make a really stupid statement and being rewarded by the words, "thank you for sharing"? Colleges and universities should stop being nursing homes for kids. Politicizing multiculturalism isn't working for the betterment of all Americans. Its rhetoric has simply concealed the venality and sycophancy of the educational marketplace.

Yes, it's time for a change, and this is the change we really need.

Over the years, Hillary has generated extraordinary antagonism, far beyond anything that could be explained by Whitewater or healthcare or being married to Bill. Now that Obama has picked her to be his Secretary of State, she is acquiring a new and admiring status from the media that has always tried to destroy her. At first, I found this about-face puzzling until I realized that she has just been anointed by The One. How can the media continue to vilify her without discrediting their Messiah, the rock star for which there was over-the-top unctuous fawning? They can’t. So, at long last, Hillary will have the coverage she deserves for her brilliance and her hard work instead of the mean-spirited knife wounds inflicted by the likes of churlish Dick Morris, slobbering Chris Matthews, silly Peggy Noonan, overrated Mica Brezinski, poisonous Maureen Dowd, and hare-brained Sally Quinn, not to mention the relentless onslaught by the mainstream media en masse.

Most curious is the glorification of Michelle Obama who has a history javascript:void(0)of espousing black liberation theology. There is only one explanation: she’s black and she’s married to The One. If Hillary were black, she too would have received the favorable press Michelle Obama received. No one could criticize Michelle Obama—it was viewed as sacrilege. Whereas, anyone has been able to criticize Hillary for no damn good reason and get away with it. She’s been taking a beating for all the years she’s been in the limelight going back to her days in Arkansas. Personally, I think there is great jealousy on the part of many and a resentment of a powerful woman with a good brain in her head.

Just think back to the debates with Barack Obama. Hillary was often the first one questioned on any given topic. She was comprehensive in her answers, always well-informed and well-spoken. Barack would smile, look thoughtful and say, “I agree with Hillary.” Next day the media would award Barack the honor of winning the debate. Well, being black, a great stump orator, and having a graceful manner helped to burnish his image. Those attributes, a swooning media, and white guilt carried him to the Presidency. He is eloquent and bright, but Hillary was that too, plus having the right experience. Had she been able to bring bus loads of thugs to the caucuses and willing to fight the delegate thievery, she would be the nominee. As we all know, yesterday is ancient history in the realm of politics, so now we must go forward. I am hopeful that our new President will be a great leader and steer us out of the mess that has been created by the likes of Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, George W. Bush, and the Wall Street robber barons. He has started out on the right foot by appointing a brilliant economic team and the best person to be Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

Is there a reliable definition of chemistry between a man and a woman? One obvious aspect of “chemistry” is the sense of delight one feels in the presence of another person—that magnetic attraction—wanting to feel his or her touch. Sparks flying from the first eye contact. It’s easy to pick up on, and then body language takes over.

Celeste, 42, a woman of great style and sex appeal, though not particularly beautiful by her own admission, said, “If I see a guy I like at a meeting, a bar, a gym, and I know he’s noticed me, I’ll give him a subtle smile, just a flash of interest. It’s all there for women—they drive this car. If formally introduced, give an extra squeeze in the handshake, or to stress a point, touch his arm during conversation. Smile, laugh at his jokes even if they’re not too funny.”

While some men can be threatened or turned off by the intensity of a women’s initial interest, most are flattered and put at ease by signs of her attraction toward them. Fitting well together, being “in sync” is more likely to happen when men and women are receptive and adventurous.

I remember once on a flight home from London, being seated next to an attractive man who was working on a political campaign. We began a conversation that lasted for hours, and soon he was looking fixedly into my eyes. I could feel the sexual tension, not only his but mine. When we heard the flight attendant announce that we fasten our seat belts for landing, he took my hand in his and squeezed it gently.

“I wish I could see you again,” he said.
“I’d like that too, but I don’t think so. We’re both married.”

We parted when the plane landed, and he rushed off to his connecting flight. Chemistry? Oh yes, that was chemistry. Being relaxed, open and receptive is not a violation of a person’s space—it’s just allowing the vibrancy to percolate even though this was a short-lived interaction that could not go beyond the hours of the flight. Was it genuine? Of course, it was. Chemistry doesn’t lie, and you know it in the very core of your being. It is, in its most basic sense, desire, yearning, lust.

And many older women today have the kind of sex appeal to ignite chemistry.

In the closing weeks of the election, however, I became increasingly disturbed by the mainstream media's avoidance of forthright dealing with several controversies that had been dogging Obama -- even as every flimsy rumor about Sarah Palin was being trumpeted as if it were engraved in stone on Mount Sinai. For example, I had thought for many months that the flap over Obama's birth certificate was a tempest in a teapot. But simple questions about the certificate were never resolved to my satisfaction. Thanks to their own blathering, fanatical overkill, of course, the right-wing challenges to the birth certificate never gained traction.

But Obama could have ended the entire matter months ago by publicly requesting Hawaii to issue a fresh, long-form, stamped certificate and inviting a few high-profile reporters in to examine the document and photograph it. (The campaign did make the "short-form" certificate available to Factcheck.org, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania.) And why has Obama not made his university records or thesis work widely available? The passivity of the press toward Bush administration propaganda about weapons of mass destruction led the nation into the costly blunder of the Iraq war. We don't need another presidency that finds it all too easy to rely on evasion or stonewalling. I deeply admire Obama, but as a voter I don't like feeling gamed or played.

Another issue that I initially dismissed was the flap over William Ayers, the Chicago-based former member of the violent Weather Underground. Conservative radio host Sean Hannity began the drumbeat about Ayers' association with Obama a year ago -- a theme that most of the mainstream media refused to investigate or even report until this summer. I had never heard of Ayers and couldn't have cared less. I was irritated by Hillary Clinton's aggressive flagging of Ayers in a debate, and I accepted Obama's curt dismissal of the issue.

Hence my concern about Ayers has been very slow in developing. The mainstream media should have fully explored the subject early this year and not allowed it to simmer and boil until it flared up ferociously in the last month of the campaign. Obama may not in recent years have been "pallin' around" with Ayers, in Sarah Palin's memorable line, but his past connections with Ayers do seem to have been more frequent and substantive than he has claimed. Blame for the failure of this issue to take hold must also accrue to the conservative talk shows, which use the scare term "radical" with simplistic sensationalism, blanketing everyone under the sun from scraggly ex-hippies to lipstick-chic Nancy Pelosi.

Pursuing the truth about Ayers, I recently rented the 2002 documentary "The Weather Underground," from Netflix. It was riveting. Although the film seems to waver between ominous exposé and blatant whitewash, the full extent of the group's bombing campaign is dramatically demonstrated. It's not for everyone: The film uses gratuitous cutaways of horrifying carnage, from the Vietnam War to the Manson murders (such as Sharon Tate's smiling corpse, bathed in blood). But the news footage of the Greenwich Village townhouse destroyed in 1970 by bomb-making gone wrong in the basement still has enormous impact. Standing in the chaotic street, actor Dustin Hoffman, who lived next door, seems like Everyman at the apocalypse.
Ayers comes off in the film as a vapid, slightly dopey, chronic juvenile with stunted powers of ethical reasoning. The real revelation is his wife, Bernardine Dohrn (who evidently worked at the same large Chicago law firm as Michelle Obama in the mid-1990s). Of course I had heard of Dohrn -- hers was one of the most notorious names of our baby-boom generation -- and I knew her black-and-white police mug shot. But I had never seen footage of her speaking or interacting with others. Well, it's pretty obvious who wears the pants in that family!

The mystery of Bernardine Dohrn: How could such a personable, attractive, well-educated young woman end up saying such things at a 1969 political rally as this (omitted in the film) about the Manson murders: "Dig it. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into a victim's stomach. Wild!" And how could Dohrn have so ruthlessly pursued a decade-long crusade of hatred and terrorism against innocent American citizens and both private and public property?

"The Weather Underground" never searches for answers, but it does show Dohrn, then and now, as a poised, articulate woman of extremely high intelligence and surprising inwardness. The audio extra of her reading the collective's first public communiqué ("Revolutionary violence is the only way") is chilling. But the tumultuous footage of her 1980 surrender to federal authorities is a knockout. Mesmerized, I ran the clip six or seven times of her seated at a lawyer's table while reading her still defiant statement. The sober scene -- with Dohrn hyper-alert in a handsome turtleneck and tweedy jacket -- was tailor-made for Jane Fonda in her "Klute" period, androgynous shag. Only illegalities by federal investigators prevented Dohrn from being put away on ice for a long, long time.

Given that Obama had served on a Chicago board with Ayers and approved funding of a leftist educational project sponsored by Ayers, one might think that the unrepentant Ayers-Dohrn couple might be of some interest to the national media. But no, reporters have been too busy playing mini-badminton with every random spitball about Sarah Palin, who has been subjected to an atrocious and at times delusional level of defamation merely because she has the temerity to hold pro-life views.

How dare Palin not embrace abortion as the ultimate civilized ideal of modern culture? How tacky that she speaks in a vivacious regional accent indistinguishable from that of Western Canada! How risible that she graduated from the University of Idaho and not one of those plush, pampered commodes of received opinion whose graduates, in their rush to believe the worst about her, have demonstrated that, when it comes to sifting evidence, they don't know their asses from their elbows.

Liberal Democrats are going to wake up from their sadomasochistic, anti-Palin orgy with a very big hangover. The evil genie released during this sorry episode will not so easily go back into its bottle. A shocking level of irrational emotionalism and at times infantile rage was exposed at the heart of current Democratic ideology -- contradicting Democratic core principles of compassion, tolerance and independent thought. One would have to look back to the Eisenhower 1950s for parallels to this grotesque lock-step parade of bourgeois provincialism, shallow groupthink and blind prejudice.

I like Sarah Palin, and I've heartily enjoyed her arrival on the national stage. As a career classroom teacher, I can see how smart she is -- and quite frankly, I think the people who don't see it are the stupid ones, wrapped in the fuzzy mummy-gauze of their own worn-out partisan dogma. So she doesn't speak the King's English -- big whoop! There is a powerful clarity of consciousness in her eyes. She uses language with the jumps, breaks and rippling momentum of a be-bop saxophonist. I stand on what I said (as a staunch pro-choice advocate) in my last two columns -- that Palin as a pro-life wife, mother and ambitious professional represents the next big shift in feminism. Pro-life women will save feminism by expanding it, particularly into the more traditional Third World.

As for the Democrats who sneered and howled that Palin was unprepared to be a vice-presidential nominee -- what navel-gazing hypocrisy! What protests were raised in the party or mainstream media when John Edwards, with vastly less political experience than Palin, got John Kerry's nod for veep four years ago? And Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, for whom I lobbied to be Obama's pick and who was on everyone's short list for months, has a record indistinguishable from Palin's. Whatever knowledge deficit Palin has about the federal bureaucracy or international affairs (outside the normal purview of governors) will hopefully be remedied during the next eight years of the Obama presidencies.

The U.S. Senate as a career option? What a claustrophobic, nitpicking comedown for an energetic Alaskan -- nothing but droning committees and incestuous back-scratching. No, Sarah Palin should stick to her governorship and just hit the rubber-chicken circuit, as Richard Nixon did in his long haul back from political limbo following his California gubernatorial defeat in 1962. Step by step, the mainstream media will come around, wipe its own mud out of its eyes, and see Palin for the populist phenomenon that she is.

COUGAR WOMEN--WHY NOW?

Older women dating younger men may seem like a fantasy, but it’s reality and it’s happening in real life and in the virtual world, and on prime time. The term coined for these women is cougars.

Shows like Lipstick Jungle and Desperate Housewives have written older woman/younger man relationships into their story lines. Nor should we overlook reality shows such as Kept and Ivana Young Man, in which successful women specifically search for a young buck they can call their own.

Is this a growing niche in society that’s being reflected on TV?

Why do these shows focus on this dynamic? Women are reaching high levels of success that allow them to choose this once taboo option.

How are these women portrayed on TV and in film? They’re usually Caucasian, extremely successful in their careers and come from middle and upper classes. They’re youthful-looking and take care of their appearance, so despite their age they fit modern standards of female beauty. Not to mention the fact that their funds allow them to keep up with the latest cosmetic advancements from Botox to implants to even a nip and tuck.

These women no longer need older men to accomplish these goals as past generations did.

These are women who have some or gained some kind of success, so when they are looking for relationships with younger men they are not necessarily looking for someone who can provide an economic ladder for them. They are more looking for someone who can provide good sex and be able to communicate with them.

Companionship and fun are also seen as part of the reason why on Lipstick Jungle, Kim Raver’s character Nico – a married woman – found a new life with a younger man. Her husband stopped paying attention to her, so she was tempted to look elsewhere. When the husband died, Nico allowed herself the freedom to really fall in love with her young man.Even the 2005 movie Prime, in which Uma Thurman’s character gets involved with her therapist’s son, reinforces the theory that an older woman chooses to be with a younger man for these more emotional reasons.

It is HOT AND TRENDY. Isn’t the purpose of every relationship to find someone who can be both a companion and a lover? Still,it does defy the traditional roles of dominance between the sexes.

The role reversal pays a price in stereotypes. Terms like “cougars” cast these women in an unfavourable light, labeling them as some type of predator hunting younger men. And shows like Lipstick and Housewives no doubt perpetuate the image of these highly sexualized older women who have bodies that look like young women’s bodies.
I do think the older woman /younger man trend getting more exposure because of the increase in older women who can choose to have these relationships, especially those in the public eye.

As for the “cougar” stereotypes and whether they will ever go away … I’m not so sure if they will, just because they only account for a small slice in the pie of society. Plus all the tongue-in-cheek innuendos that go along with them are still taboo. And taboo means forbidden—always an exciting lure for the young at heart.

In the end, it’s good to shake things up once in a while, and if bringing the older woman/younger man relationship into the light helps break down negative stereotypes, then so be it.

Who says a powerful woman can’t find love and companionship with a younger man? Successful men have married much younger women for generations, so it can’t be all bad.

Many tabloid celebrities have led the way, teasing and taking men at their will, some even taking them away from other women. I don't suggest this, but any woman can learn a lot from the way these women attract and conquer. They are the equivalent of naughty men, irresistible to the opposite sex. These women are talented and can lead men around like puppy dogs. They can weave a web so intricate that by the time a guy spots the trap, he's caught in the tangle. This woman is the ultimate challenge--a man's fantasy.

Big question: How do they do it?

1. She is unabashedly sexual. No explanation needed. You know what I'm saying.

2. She talks with her eyes as much as she does with her body. She smiles in a coy fashion. Her eye contact is forceful and deliberate. She's almost saying, "Look at me. I'm going to capture you and you're going to love it."

3. She knows men and can manipulate them because she understands the male brain, the big one and the little one. She prefers male friends and usually has the kind of interests that appeal to men. She draws men around her, her pool of possible suitors.

4. She has no trouble moving on when the mood strikes, leaving the guy in the dust. She is quick to see the end game and will cut her losses to move to the next one.

5. She knows how to dress provocatively without looking cheap. Her aim is to please men, not women. She chooses colors and textures that appeal to men--silk, dark colors, also red and magenta. She wears sexy jewelry, maybe a necklace that leads the eye to cleavage, or dangling earrings that sparkle and draw attention to her face.

6. She is unaffected by the glare of another woman. This is the world of the supreme seductress. She knows who she is and she makes no apologies. But if you want to learn, befriend this black widow. She can be a great friend, but seldom gets much of chance because women have trouble dealing with the attention she gets. Watch her, steal her secrets and emulate her. She has the formula.

7. She is always uptown classy in appearance and behavior. No cheap knock offs for this princess. She's the real deal, and she's high maintenance, though she'd have you believe otherwise.

8. Lastly, she knows it takes two to get one. For her pine is for furniture. She won't ever beg you, doesn't need to, because there's always one in the wings. She doesn't sit at home waiting for your call. So if you want her, you need to move quickly.

Those of us who are fearful of Obama don't want to become fearful of you, but learning of your extreme religious right views are making us wary. You may have chosen to have a fifth child with Down's Syndrome, but many women don't want to shoulder that burden. If they want to abort, will you impose your views and stand in their way?

We have no rights as women if we can't control our bodies. If you try to ban abortion, you are depriving us of those rights. What woman wants to bear a child that is a product of rape or incest? Frankly, there aren't many. If you pursue your rigid stance and try to impose it on American women, they will grow to despise you.

Stem cell research with embryonic cells must go forth. Don't stand it its way.

Birth control and sex education is essential in our society to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. Please be open to this. Abstinence and no sex education doesn't work. Need we remind you of the situation in your own family. Don't stand in the way of enlightenment.

If you deny women the right to abortions, we will have a nation that will be overrun by unwanted children. Many, if not most, will come from poor minority families. How will that help to make our country strong?

We are a country of many views, many religions, many cultures. We can't tolerate a bias that deprives people of their freedoms--religion or none at all is a big one.

My advice for you from those of us who want to support the McCain/Palin ticket: Keep your religion personal and don't make it a mainstay of your candidacy.

THE BARE FACTS

Question: I’m 42 years old, divorced. Recently, I became involved with a 30-year-old professional man who works in my building. He’s very attractive and could get any woman he wanted, so I’ve been playing it cool. We haven’t been intimate yet, but I know it’s going to happen. I’ve had kids and the stretch marks that go with it. My body isn’t the body of a young single woman. I’m a little overweight and having breast fed two children, my breasts aren’t that perky or firm anymore. How can I make myself more appealing in the nude? Frankly, I’m embarrassed to take my clothes off in front of him. I don’t want him to be turned off. What can I do to minimize my figure defects?

Answer: Surprise! At any age, women agonize about the way their naked body will look to a man with whom they’re having sex. Overweight men with a big gut never give a moment of worry about how they look except for the size of you-know-what? When we, as women, get naked, we want to make a grand entrance, even if we’re not so grand. Is there any dignified way to get naked and to present whatever men or women have that just hangs there? Men have pride in what’s there unless it’s not up to standard, but even with that, he’s not going to allow himself to be deprived. Why are women so self-conscious? Because we are victims of society’s message that the woman has to be young and beautiful to attract a man. Sadly, we’re brain-washed into believing that youth and good looks comprise the sum total of a woman’s worth. Even if we’re toned and flexible and he’s salivating, saying how beautiful he thinks we are, we’re never convinced. There’s always that uncertainty. It hovers over us like a thunder cloud about to burst and ruin the night. Even gorgeous women are insecure about the way they look in the nude. That begs the question—if they’re insecure, what about the rest of us who aren’t that gorgeous with our quilted thighs or flabby upper arms? Will he be shocked and repulsed? Should I spend the next six months going to the gym and starving the fat off before I allow him to see me naked? You could do that, but he may be gone by then.

Think of this: he’s naked, his clothes strewn on the floor. He’s visibly ready. You’ve managed candlelight. It’s glowing and forgiving. So what’s the problem? The problem is in your head. Okay, you can leave the sexy underwear on. It helps. It gives you some comfort, and he will probably enjoy helping to take it off when the moment is right. It’s not that easy, huh? Just remember when a man is sexually aroused, the woman’s body even with some flaws is beautiful. Are you noticing his love handles? Or that his upper arms aren’t that muscular? Probably not even entering your mind because you’re so focused on you. And so is he, because he doesn’t give a second of worry to his flaws. He’s in the moment. And that’s where you should be. And whatever you do, don’t apologize for your body. That only draws his attention to it when he would otherwise not notice. Even if you’re twenty or thirty pounds overweight, you don’t have to worry because the guy already knew that. Clothes don’t disguise that much. If he wanted a skinny woman, he wouldn’t be there with you.

There are several ways of handling this dilemma. But before you get to that stage, be sure you have nice new seductive underwear. Men love silk and lace. If your legs have varicose veins, you might wear a sexy garter belt and stockings, the kind men fantasize about. Once a man is aroused, he sees what he wants to see. He’s not going to take the time to scrutinize you to see if your body is perfect. Be sure to engage in a lot of foreplay before the clothes come off. By the time they do, he’ll be so eager to please himself and you that he won’t even notice your figure faults. Men who really like women, and particularly an older woman, prefer round curves to bony sharp edges. They want a woman to look womanly. Don’t forget candlelight is romantic and very forgiving and so is a blazing fire in the fireplace if you can manage that. Or you can snuggle on a couch to watch a movie in the dark. Let one thing lead to another. You might consider a deserted moonlit beach. It’s a wonderful venue.

A word of caution: try to avoid being on top because gravity has a funny way of making all the skin fall forward. When he’s on top, there’s no droop; however, unless you have implants, you might want to keep your arms close to your body so that your breasts won’t look like sunny-side-up fried eggs. One woman, not wanting him to see her full body naked, started her sexual relationship with her young man in the back seat of a car on a deserted country road on a dark night where she knew there would be no onlookers, but for safety, I don’t recommend that.

Now, some very good and sound advice based on what I heard from so many of the men I interviewed: If the two of you have been together several times, and he’s still pursuing you, he already thinks you’re attractive or he wouldn’t still be there. By the time you’re both in the throes of passion, you think he looks great, and he thinks you do too, so stop the worry and enjoy each other. Hint, hint: the average man is more interested in a woman who is interested in him than he is in a woman with a perfect figure.

SEEKING APPROVAL TO DATE A YOUNGER MAN

QUESTION: I’m 48, divorced, and I’d like to go out with a younger man but some of my friends think it’s unseemly. They’ve said men who go out with older women are only interested in sex. I want a companion, someone to do things with-- travel, have dinner, see a movie. I’m attracted to younger men, but I don’t want to be called a cougar. I don’t want to feel sleazy. How do I overcome that impression and find what I’m looking for?

ANSWER: Here goes. Men are motivated toward women based on sexual attraction. It’s a given. Face it, and live with it. It’s what makes the world go round. That doesn’t mean you have to feel sleazy to get yourself gussied up to meet a younger man. If you’re bent on presenting yourself as a schoolmarm or librarian, go right ahead, but you won’t be drawing bees to the honey. That is not to say, you have to dress like a pole dancer, though I’m told high-priced call girls are very stylish and elegant. Don’t show too much cleavage, but a little. Don’t wear clothes that are skin tight, but clingy enough to show your curves in a dignified way. And stop worrying that men go out with older women for sex. Recognize an obvious fact—men go out with all women whatever their age with a desire to get her into bed. Because you’re older, consider it a complement that the younger man finds you just as appealing as he would a younger woman. Know that it’s up to you to decide what you hope to get out of the relationship and if and when you want to hop into bed. Fortunately, those rules haven’t changed. As for not wanting to be considered a cougar—that’s easy—don’t go to a bar and broadcast your desire to have a meaningful relationship for one night. And when some younger man initiates contact, certainly don’t tell him that a hard man is good to find, or words to that effect. It’s also worth knowing that men use sex to get love; women use love to get sex. What both really want is intimacy. People today say they’ve been intimate meaning they had sex. Intimacy and sexuality are not synonymous. You can go out, meet some one and have wild sex with that person. That’s not intimacy. Insects do it. Goats do it. It’s sex, but it’s not intimacy. Your desire to do things together and enjoying each other over a period of time is really what promotes intimacy. These are the activities that you can talk about with anyone. Even if the man’s immediate objective is to have sex, he is really seeking intimacy, so don’t be put off by what men do to lure you into bed. Just delay it until you know that you want to have sex with him as an expression of caring because this man is a keeper.

JOHN EDWARDS RE-VISITED

Remember I said the National Enquirer article calling Edwards on his extramarital affair was probably true. Comments were made criticizing me for that opinion. So be it. To me, the tragedy of the situation is the damage, not to Edwards, but to a wife, a very lovely and devoted wife, mother of his children, who is now terminally ill with Cancer. Imagine the humiliation she must feel during her final days of life after being there for him through two rigorous campaigns, the last one during her radiation and chemo-therapy. And, yes, the embarrassment to his children. My goodness, couldn't he have restrained those primal urges.

Just wait--they'll be more coming out on Obama, when he is long past his (I hope unsuccessful) run for President and is no longer on the main stage.

A mother had just finished bathing her little three-year-old boy. He looked down between his legs.

"Mommy, are those my brains?"

"Not yet, dear. They will be one day."

The message of this post: Hillary should have been the nominee. She would have won, and we would not have a worry about where her brains are located.

DAUGHTER ACCUSES MOTHER OF BEING A COUGAR

Help! A daughter won’t speak to her mother because she accuses her mother of being a cougar and a thief who had stolen her boyfriend.

Clare, a 22-year-old paralegal began to date Craig, a 38-year-old junior partner in another law firm. Craig is divorced and has one 8-year-old daughter. Clare’s mother Julie, 46 and divorced, met Craig when Clare invited him to join her for Christmas dinner at her mother’s house. Fast forward six months. Craig tells Clare he doesn’t want to continue seeing her.

“Clare, I don’t think this will work. There’s too much of an age difference between us. We just don’t have a whole lot in common.”

Clare is shocked and devastated. She had fallen in love with Craig and thought the reason he wanted to have that serious talk was to propose. What Clare didn’t know at that time was that Craig had visited her mother to ask how he could end the relationship with Clare in the least hurtful way, and during that visit he felt a definite attraction to Julie. Was he using the need for counsel as an excuse to see Julie? Was the attraction sudden or did it start when he first saw Julie.
Julie is socially prominent, on everyone’s guest list. She’s tall, beautiful, sophisticated, well-traveled and runs her own consulting business that she built over a period of years.

Craig denied that he had designs on Julie. “It just happened,” he said. Clare, not only doesn’t believe him, but she is now unwilling to talk to her mother.

At first, Julie refused to go out with Craig because he was her daughter’s boyfriend, but some weeks after the break-up, he continued to call Julie. And Julie was as attracted to him as he was to her. Finally, Julie relented and met him for drink. In her own mind, she justified that Craig was 16 years older than Clare, but only 8 years her junior. They had so much to talk about, many interests in common, and there was a spark that Julie almost never felt for other men she’d dated.

When Craig asked to see her again, she said, “I’ll have to tell Clare. I can’t do this behind her back.”

“Don’t say anything to her yet. Let’s see each other again first so we’ll know if we want to continue.”

That seemed reasonable to Julie. Of course, as she might have suspected, there was this enormous physical attraction between then, and on the next date, she didn’t want to think about the possibility of giving him up if Clare asked that of her. She wasn’t sure if Clare was completely over Craig. Julie began to put off the discussion she knew she had to have with her daughter.

Predictably, a month later, Clare found out. She saw her mother and Craig at a local restaurant, and knew instantly that Craig and her mother were dating. Clare left the restaurant without being seen, but the next day she confronted her mother. Julie explained how it began and admitted she’d been out with Craig a few times.

Clare was livid. She called her mother a sleazy cougar. "You either stop seeing Craig, or I'll never speak to you again."

Was Clare justified in demanding that her mother stop seeing Craig?

JOHN EDWARDS--UNFAITHFUL? PROBABLY

The sex police are out and screaming their heads off about John Edwards and his supposed infidelity with Rielle Hunter, who is reportedly the mother of his love child.
This story has too many factual details to be untrue, but, let's face it, Edwards is a hunk, a man, a politician, wealthy, and often on the road alone. Is anyone surprised? I really do think it's time to stop dwelling on everyone's sexuality. Those who say "if a man will lie to his wife about an affair, he'll lie about anything" must be living on a different planet. There aren't very many men who tell their wives the truth about their infidelity, and the statistics on infidelity are soaring. So...if we want men in public office who will tell truth when they are unfaithful, or men who are never unfaithful, we are going to have to resort to women in charge because you just aren't going to find men who meet that standard unless they're comatose. Speaking of comatose...was that the problem with Jimmy Carter, and now George W. Bush, both of whom appear to have been faithful to their wives but lied like hell about all the important things.

And just wait--we might hear more from Larry Sinclair and the boys who have enjoyed the pleasure of Obama or will they all wind up dead? Three young men, including one of the gay men in Obama's church died mysteriously. I know I'm going to get flack on this one, not on Edwards because he has never represented himself to be the Messiah, but Obama--pure as the driven snow. Oh sure. Puleez!

MAN'S NORMAL INSTINCT FOR IMPERSONAL SEX

Michael Gilbert has written a book called The Disposable Male. In it, he makes the case for strengthening the family to help men overcome their instinctive obsession with sex. He says man's need for immediate gratification is a universal phenomenon. In every culture, males demonstrate more compulsion, more aggression, and less discrimination when it has anything to do with sex. Gilbert says nature did not favor the sensitive male. If he dallied, a man's potency might falter, or maybe he got killed. Numerous fleeting, nimble-footed forays were the way to genetic immortality--or at least to a good time.

Ever on the lookout for young healthy females, ancestral males developed a sexual approach designed for breadth, not depth. Rapid visuals were in, long courtship was out. The "quickie" was born and seems to be ever present and even encouraged by many in this younger generation of women. These dynamics help explain the persistent male interest in porn. Crude, in-your-face, anonymous female nudity sends male blood rushing. Porn may be failed imagination, or just brute instinct given shape. Either way it appeals directly to the testosterone-addled hunter who is alive and often pumped in today's man. Let's face it--men are looking for meaningful relationships for one night.

So what should women do? Don't be so easy that the guy is up and running as soon as he gets what he wants. Whether he's younger than you or not, you can't give in to his demands until you have a meaningful relationship for a period of time.

THAT FIRST DATE AFTER ANOTHER RELATIONSHIP ENDS

Shortly after Mary got out of a long-term relationship (3 years and a dog) she went on a date with a guy she met on one of the well known dating sites. Jack was handsome, successful, and judging from the exchanged e-mails, utterly charming. It was the first post-breakup date for both of them, and Mary felt very out of practice. At the restaurant, they made awkward small talk about the bread, ("love the smell of bread right out of the oven"),the latest debate between the two presidential candidates ("he's not much on detail"), the weather, ( too hot for this early in the season"). After comparing their opinions on the salads, desperation set in as the entrees arrived. That's when Mary made the new to dating scene's most fatal conversational gaffe: she asked Jack about his recently broken marriage. After that, it was all about Jack and the years he'd spent miserably married to a woman who treated him like a piece of furniture that needed to be reupholstered. Mary tried to change the subject, but Jack was not going to move on to any other topic until Mary said to herself she'd had enough. She looked at her watch. "Oh my goodness, I'm going to be late for my next appointment. She opened her wallet, pulled out a twenty and said, "This should take care of my portion. I've got to go."

Forget romance. A first date is like a job interview--except it works both ways. When you tell a story about your friend who's dating a guy of a different race, your date should know you're testing his views on social politics. When you say that you can't believe how badly some people treat waiters, you're assessing your date's level of empathy. When you say you went to a new exhibit at the museum and loved the impressionist paintings, you're judging your date's appreciation of the arts.

As in a job interview, the goal is to impart general information without imparting too much information. Don't go into great detail about previous relationships or your intimate health history or the trouble you're having with your kids, if you have kids. Of course, it's natural to want to break the ice and let your guard down if you hope that this person will become your lover at some future time, but the details should wait for a second or third date. At the very early stages, you're not you--you're the ambassador of you. So the rule is: BETTER LEFT UNSAID.

You don't have to fill every silence. Just chew your food and sip your drink. And don't seem to be interrogating your new friend as if you were getting ready to take his or her polygraph. The first date should be more surface using the time to see if there's any chemistry in what you see, providing what you hear doesn't turn you off.

Sometimes actions speak louder than words. A soft glance at your date, a smile, a nod at something he or she said that appeals to your senses. Like at the end of the date, instead of mumbling some lame version of "I'll call you," just go home and pick up the phone to say how much you enjoyed meeting her or him. Either one can do this. We do live in an equal society now, and a man who just took a new woman to lunch might like the encouragement of a phone call to thank him. Because beneath the surface, that what the entire first date conversation was about: would there or would there not be a second date.

All the rest is filler.

COUGAR HUNTERS

Mrs. Robinson was sexy as hell. Almost 40 years later, women everywhere--on screen and off--are flaunting their latest accessory, a hot younger man. Typically, women were valued for their youth and beauty. Today, women stay youthful and beautiful into their 60's. Add to that mix, sophistication, intelligence, and confidence, and what it translates to is a winning combination that appeals to men of all ages. The tradition of the young woman with the older man is being turned upside down. Men today are not intimidated by a successful older woman. They find her sensual and exciting. They love the challenge. This upbeat trend has bred a new kind of man--they're called cougar hunters. They have Web sites all their own to find out where the cougars are, how to woo them, and what to expect from the age reverse relationship. At first, women were driving the trend, but that has changed. The men are are in the driver's seat now now. What real man doesn't want an attractive, sensually aware woman, confident, and in control of her life. These are women who can certainly match the vigor of the younger man in all respects. It's, as the saying goes, a match made in heaven.

A MAN'S MIDLIFE CRISIS

John brought this hot young thing home from a date. It was a tough time for John having just gone through an acrimonious divorce from a fifteen year marriage that had turned sour and even more than that, it had turned mean. John, 41, was smugly convinced he was still the man he used to be. Until—it hit.

Despite a persistent (and even valiant) attempt, he couldn't perform no matter how hard he tried. The hottie just looked at him as if he were an archeological fossil. For the first time in his life, his youth, his virility, his very ability was suddenly in question. Never mind that a few drinks might have been playing a role. He rolled over, humiliated. What was next--balding, incontinence, memory loss, or worse, a life without sex? Regardless of how well adjusted a guy might think he is, the day will come when he abruptly awakens to what he once was and will likely never be again. This midlife thing isn't a threshold you cross; it's a dark hall down which you take a walk. And along the way are doors behind which (you think) wild parties roar. There's the bash for guys with trophy wives, the blast for men with new hair, and the tailgate for those who just bought Porsches. The urge to turn a knob and enter is irrepressible.

Some friends will advise that he grow up, but to no avail--he feels driven to act in ways that can be totally disruptive of life. The reasons why are both simple and complex. Instead of growing up, he gives in to temptation, and does all the radical, seemingly stupid things men typically do in an effort to find answers and youth. From driving a sports car to quitting his job to dating someone half his age.

From an evolutionary perspective, men have two basic needs: One is to survive; the other is to reproduce. And of the two, reproduction screams louder. Believe it or not, if there's a chance he can have sex, even if it means putting his life at risk, most guys will go for the sex. His genes care more about vaulting into the next generation than they do about whether he lives another week. So it makes sense to look as good as possible. And if the hair is going gray and/or thinning, the guy who never stepped foot in a beauty salon is going there for hair color, or doing comb overs. He may even go for hair transplants.

Now, he wants toys to attract the hotties. So he buys a sports car, or a Jet Ski, or some other bit of flash. He justifies the expense as a harmless reward for years of sacrifice and service, but on a deeper level it marks the start of a search.
The new 450-horsepower Porsche 911 Turbo gets a real thumbs up. Women notice a guy driving a $150,000 automobile. But there's a blind spot. From his position in the driver's seat, he doesn’t see that they're noticing the car first, and then what it represents: power, wealth, and significance. He doesn’t care. When he’s tooling around, he’s on a high and doesn’t realize that it’s not about him.

If the guy is still married, the urge to cheat is heightened. As men age, the hormone levels shift, which means they have a higher estrogen-to-testosterone ratio. Subsequently, they grow softer and more sensitive--essentially more feminine. At the same time, women of that age have a higher testosterone-to-estrogen ratio. They grow tougher and more empowered, and even sexier, but the midlife crisis prevents hubby from noticing. So husbands and wives at this point in their lives are often moving in different directions. As a result, the time is ripe for infidelity and breakup. At precisely the period when men are desiring more attention and respect, their rejected partners are typically giving them less, so they often find another woman.

John made the break. He divorced the fat wife who, on a good day, treated him like a piece of furniture. Here’s some of John’s story: “Jennifer is a 24-year-old, blue-eyed blonde who nannies for a friend and his wife. She's aware of my age. The night before our "date," I trimmed my ear hair and watched 2 hours of MTV. Jennifer smiled when she met me. I felt my heart flutter (or it could have been arrhythmia). Over champagne and hors d'oeuvres at the Blue Ridge Grill, she let it slip that her father is 45. During the main course, there were extended moments of awkward silence during which I felt like a bumbling adolescent. And after dessert, she took my arm and rested her head on my shoulder. She felt so soft and new, like a fresh bloom. I resisted looking into her eyes for fear of what I might find, not in her but in me. This is dangerous. Unless you are so fed up with your life that you're willing to risk losing it, don't go here. I took Jennifer home, not totally without relief. There was no parting hug, no kiss, no mention of the future--on purpose. She said she'd had fun, but I didn't even want to hear that. Such a woman can either make you forget your age entirely or create a true crisis.

Introspection was next on the agenda. That I’d lived all these years and somehow missed the point. Deep down, I knew sports cars and young hotties weren’t the answer.

I sought out two Tibetan lamas and asked them three questions:
(1) If change is good, why do I resist it?
(2) Why can't I ever seem to be satisfied?
(3) Why am I here?

According to them, all my questions have the same answer. My fear, my restlessness, my quest for something deeper is a result of not knowing who I am. To meet this man, they recommend I check in with myself for 5 minutes every day (just as I do with voice and e-mail) and ask myself two questions:

(1) What have I done today that was meaningful?
(2) What meaningful change do I intend to make in my life tomorrow?

If I practice this daily, these wise men contend, I'll no longer find life so troublesome."

Men nowadays live by an ethic of constant improvement. But at middle age, many men see themselves stagnating. The baby-boom generation has been socialized to keep working really hard and to keep starting over. If they’re not starting something new, they often feel they’re not achieving. Compounding this is the fact that by midlife many men have already achieved what took their fathers an entire lifetime. When what you want is already in hand, why continue to pretend?

Half of the mid life man says suck it up, quit complaining, and put in another 20 years of a dead marriage or a dead job or both. But the other half insists on getting out before numbness sets in and all energy is sapped. So there is this conflict to keep things in perspective, be grateful for what life has given thus far and be satisfied. The other half says there is so much more but that means taking risk. The logical side says play it safe. The adventurous side says go for it. The world is out there and it holds so much promise.

Two weeks later, John had a date with Angie, age 48, a paralegal who had one college age son. They went to dinner and spent two hours talking and laughing and never ran out of things to say to each other. She liked the same music John liked, read similar books, lived through the same times. All that made for a comfort level John didn’t have with the sweet young thing. He knew he could meet Angie's expectations. There was never a moment of boredom or indifference. Amazingly, Angie was energizing, youth-restoring, and made John feel happy to be alive. His next goal was to deal with the two questions the Tibetan monks offered to him in his quest for the meaning of it all. And he was ready to do it.

THE WIT OF OSCAR WILDE

Tonight I watched a movie called "The Good Woman," based on Oscar Wilde's play, Lady Windemere's Fan. I read the play a long time ago while I was in college, but the words of the infamous Wilde made little impact on me then. I was too young, devoid of life's experiences to understand their import. A few of his insights are worth repeating:

"We can't shut our eyes to everything that is imperfect, or we should all fall into the abyss."

"Every saint has a past; every sinner has a future."

"Devilish women are a bother; good ones are a bore."

"Every man is born a fool; every man dies a liar."

"We're all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars."

And my favorite one: "It takes practice and skill to live without regret."

BLACK WOMEN SPEAK OUT FOR HILLARY CLINTON

And I'm tired of the dirty looks I get when I out myself. Why is it so surprising that someone like me – a black, educated, progressive chick – would put my support behind Hillary Clinton?

Oh, I know. I'm black, so, of course, I should support Barack Obama for the number one position in the country.

My good friend recently rolled her eyes in exasperation because she'd been patient with me, waiting for me to come to my senses, but suspected that I'd still not yet hopped over into the Obama camp.

Just before Super Tuesday, as I broke bread with another friend, she sucked her teeth and shot me an incredulous look when I admitted to backing Hillary.

The other day I attended a candlelight banquet for Morehouse College, where actor and MC of the evening Hill Harper took a few minutes to remind the distinguished crowd of Atlanta's finest luminaries that he and Barack went to law school together and that he would be happy to accept money that anyone wanted to donate. He got laughter, resounding applause, and I imagine a few checks slipped into his open palm. Somehow, I suspected that if I got up on stage and offered to take checks for Hillary, I'd hear the crickets chirping in the background.

What's funny to me, though, is that before Barack entered the race, many friends and family were excited about Hillary, thrilled, actually; they believed that she was our beacon of hope, that she represented profound change. But now that Barack has entered the building, these same people have turned against Hillary and put her down, even though her positions and beliefs have not changed.

Quite frankly, I'm tired of dealing with friends, family and co-workers who cannot believe that I've fallen for the supposed race lies of the Clinton machine, that I can't see how they are manipulating this race and treating our brother – this bright light, this brilliant man – so poorly.

It's interesting that these outraged critics rarely reference the gender lines that have been crossed, the attacks Hillary has endured from opponents and the press for the past 16 years. She's been attacked for her hair, her clothes, her facial expressions, her mannerisms…John McCain even joked that she'd had sex with Janet Reno to produce Chelsea – what's up with that??? And most of us remained silent at these barbs.

I would even dare say that some of us most likely agreed with the assessments and snickered behind our hands. It's never okay to be racist in our world, but, unfortunately, it's still 'normal' to be sexist. I don't know how that level of unchallenged scrutiny and scathing criticism might develop into survival tactics when called to deal with the press and opponents now. Frankly, it amazes me that Hillary is still standing with her shoulders straight in the face of it all.

Now, in case you're questioning, I do have race pride. No question about it. I am absolutely connected to the beautiful, soulful energy of African-American culture. But I hate that I just had to say that. I hate that all black Clinton supporters are somehow expected to qualify their blackness, as if we are naïve at best and traitors to the race at worst. Hillary's national co-chair, Sheila Jackson Lee, had to do it, too. She said on the Tavis Smiley Show, "I did not leave my blackness at the door. I am still a sister. I shout in the church. I love the Lord. And I love my people."

I'm tired of race being the overriding defining piece of my identity, of black women's identities. Like Sojourner Truth said years ago, "Ain't I a woman?" Doesn't that side of me deserve attention too?

I've traveled this election's campaign trail on assignment – Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina – and I've been moved, touched and inspired by the new fervor for politics everywhere, but I've also been saddened. I met two young gentlemen from George Washington University who'd volunteered for the Obama campaign in South Carolina. One, very eloquent and smart – the kind of guy you'd be proud to introduce to your parents, told me plainly that black women will always be seen as black before they are seen as women. He was a gender studies major with a concentration in black feminist theory; he shook his head and said gravely, "Race will always trumps gender."

But why? Why am I asked to always put one before the other?

A few days ago, I had the good fortune to sit in Gloria Steinem's living room. The small group included Spelman College VIPs Beverly Guy-Sheftall and Johnnetta Cole, television personality Judge Glenda Hatchett, actress Lisa Gay Hamilton, Feminist Majority Foundation president Eleanor Smeal and CosmoGIRL! Editor-in-Chief Susan Schulz. We had gathered to discuss strategies to raise money for Spelman's Women's Research & Resource Center.

Ironically enough, the center's research focuses on the intersections and tensions between race and gender.

I can't say that everyone there supported Hillary, but I can say there was some much-appreciated space and understanding for those of us who did. Here I was not considered naïve or misinformed, but rather I was acknowledged and applauded for taking into consideration the complex issues of gender that are still getting swept under the rug.

The truth is that the rape of, the violence against and the suppression of millions of beautiful souls just because they have ovaries is happening in every community all over the globe, and most people are not talking about it. Because my spirit swells with compassion for women's causes and concerns, I gave my heart to Hillary long ago. To me, Hillary Clinton represents revolution and radical change for the often unnoticed and forgotten 'other half' of the world's population.

If she inspires even a few of the millions of girls and women in this world to believe that they too could run for an impossible office and win, then she's the harbinger of the kind of change I think the world needs. Until we have a balanced world leadership – with men and plenty of women, especially women of color, at the table - encouraging countries to disarm, creating coalitions, focusing on the environment and supporting the least among them, change will remain a pipe dream.

I envision a new world order that works inside of compassion rather than force and that includes women at every step.

I compared the voting records and positions of Hillary and Barack. She's a bit more liberal on foreign policy and the war and he's slightly more liberal on affirmative action. She's more outspoken on women's reproductive rights, but his voting record indicates that he too is a supporter. And so on. They match or they compliment each other on the major issues. The bottom line is that these two reside in the same political orbit. I have no quarrel with those of you who support Barack – he's a fine choice – but I do get upset with those who begrudge me my choice and who dismiss Hillary because of these recent spats in the media (I know YOU know that CNN and Fox get higher ratings every time they fan the Clinton/ Obama race flames).

Hillary's politics and global intentions are dead-on. And I believe that having a woman in the most powerful position in this country is a step in the right direction of creating the world I dream of. So, again I say this loudly and proudly, I'm a Hillary supporter - through and through.

WE'VE COME A LONG WAY, BABY

In 1986, Newsweek Magazine reported that college-aged women who are still single at the age of 35 have only a 5 percent chance of ever getting married. The stats confirmed what had been suspected: that many women who seemed to have it all--good looks, good jobs, advanced degrees and high salaries were going to miss out on having a good mate. So mother's dire prediction was right: if you wait too long all the good men will be gone.

What was missing from the equation was some very critical information--that there was no man shortage, simply a shortage of men their age or older. But at that time, the study struck fear in the hearts of so many women because the practice of dating younger men was still taboo, not even talked about. Now, in 2008, it's laughable that a woman would decline a date with a man because he's younger. Today, his age wouldn't even enter her mind unless the age gap was really huge.

Today's woman has proven she's willing to battle for new options. Here is a list of her options--all of them forcing society to change. These changes have been won by women as a result of the women's movement that began in the late 1960's:
--the opportunity to be an independent, self reliant woman who can support herself, no longer seeking personal identity and expression through a man.
--the opportunity to enter professions and occupations once open to "men only," such as medicine, law, business, engineering, and politics.
--the opportunity to have a lover, to live openly with a man and not have to sneak around to do it.
--the opportunity to marry and have a family, raising children that turn out beautifully despite the presence of both parents working.

One glass ceiling that still needs to be broken is meeting real gender bias, having a woman elected to be President of the United States. I just have to believe that ceiling is about to be broken. Hopefully, we will soon be able to applaud the swearing in of President Hillary Clinton.

FEELING REJECTED? FIND SOMEONE NEW

No one likes getting dumped, but it happens to most people at some point in their lives. The question is: How do you recover from the rejection? Some people will withdraw after a painful breakup and become very self-protective, wary of another hurt. Understandable--the loss of love is devastating. That's fine for a time, but not if it keeps you from putting yourself out there and trying again. Even if you feel you could never love like that another time, you need to try. It's nonsense to think that there's just one perfect person for you. Maybe there's just one perfect person in your circle of the people you know. But think of all the people you don't know, and any one of them might be even more suitable than the one who disappointed you. You need to circulate, put yourself in situations where you'll meet lots of new people. I remind you of the vast array of people you can meet through online dating sites. You can love again. Being able to love requires trusting your emotions. Imagine love to be possible for you, that is if you're willing to be vulnerable again. People recover all the time. Wounds heal. And the best medicine for a damaged heart is to open yourself up to a new and special person. He or she is out there.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

She's older than you are and you finally mustered the courage to ask her out. But where do you take the more sophisticated woman? Deciding which venue will be most conducive to a second date doesn't have to be difficult.

STARBUCKS. It's a good start. Let's grab a cup of coffee. Good idea because if the date sours, you can end it without a waiter asking if you want to see the dessert menu. However, if the date is going well, you may be drinking ten cups of coffee.

A MOVIE. Depends on the movie. Pick something romantic to set the mood. And for heaven's sake, don't pick Brokeback Mountain or some blood and guts movie with loud noice and violence. And remember if you've just met and have not been chatting online you're now faced with the prospect of sitting beside her for two hours without saying a word. Maybe, you'll get lucky and she'll ask you to hold her hand.

YOUR PLACE. If you propose your place for your first date and she accepts, she obviously trusts you more than she should. She's trouble. Run.

HER PLACE. Nice try if you have the nerve to ask a woman out on a date and suggest that the date be at her place. The best you can really hope for is that you take her out for a nice dinner and she then invites you back to her place.

WHATEVER YOU DO, YOU PICK THE PLACE. DON'T GIVE HER THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CHOOSING WHERE TO GO.

THE INTERNET IS A PARADOX WHEN IT COMES TO ROMANCE

THE PRICE OF A COUGAR'S LOVE

Flirting is part of the universal ritual of romance. It comes natural to some, but it can be learned behavior. If you go to a gathering of singles, you will soon spot the master flirts. COUGARS--A Whole New Meaning

When the irreverent Valerie Gibson coined the term Cougar, she meant women in their 40's prowling for great sex with younger men in their 20's. No longer is the term limited to just that age group of women with that sole purpose in mind. At this point in time, the term no longer gives the impression of coming at you with a head shot smirk. The topic of women with younger men is so breathless that it is simply a new and exciting trend embraced by both women and younger men. It's a happening. It's now. It's high fever.

There are women in their 30's going with men in their 20's, women in their 60's going after men in their 50's and everything in between and beyond. The new "cougar" is looking for meaningful relationships with men who are younger, and it's about much more than just sex. Sure, when women think about what they love about younger men, they muse on their fantasies, but, make no mistake about it, the younger men are doing the same thing. That's what brings them together, but the expanded definition of the term "cougar" means that these are not just one night stands or short term flings. Rather they are relationships of real duration including marriage. Even biology is helping by extending childbearing years for women.

Women's good health and good looks, and the demographics are playing into this dynamic. Women live longer than men and are looking better than ever well into old age. We know that. And there just aren't enough eligible men to go around.
You should realize that this has gone far afield from what Gibson wrote about in her book, Cougar.

IN THE THROES OF ECSTASY

The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth is advisable if you’re on the witness stand and under oath, but it’s simple insanity to tell the truth at all times in a relationship. Being raised in a society where we hear over and over again that honesty is the best policy, presents a real dilemma for us.

What do you say when asked: Am I beautiful? Or, does this make me look fat? The honest answer is the death knell of a relationship? So how do you respond honestly if the truth is cruel?

Truth? Forget it. In relationships we are compelled to lie, not to be devious or harmful, but for quite the opposite reason, to enhance compatibility and mutual admiration to make romance blossom rather than wilt away and die.

Your romantic interest calls you on the telephone, someone you think is going to be special in your life.

“Hey, I thought you said you’d be home the other night. Where were you?”

You could tell the truth: “Out on a date.” Not smart.

You could fudge it and say, “Out with a friend.” That begs the question, and who was the friend?

You could say, “I don’t think it’s your business.” Poison to the romance.

You could lie and say, “Just stepped out to go to the supermarket.” The white lie that keeps the romance flourishing.

Generally, and despite what they say, most women don’t want the truth. Maybe it’s because we’re so used to being lied to by our women friends—usually to save our egos. Women are raised to tell the difference between lies that are ego savers and lies that are cruel. It’s a simple calculus: We gloss over anything that might insult someone or damage self-esteem. But we try to tell the truth about everything else.

Now getting to the nitty gritty: You’re in the throes of ecstasy and your partner asks, “Do you love me?” It's not the moment to evade the question by stiffening up. Uh oh, wrong choice of words, but you get the drift. If you say no, you know what happens next. Why not think of it as truth to say, “Yes,” because at that precise moment, you probably do.

WOMEN ATTRACTED TO NAUGHTY MEN

Some women love to capture elusive men. We all have within us the desire to tempt fate--to climb steep mountains, race cars, or gamble at roulette tables. Forbidden love provides a similar thrill.

What type of woman is she, the woman attracted to the forbidden? She knows how to flirt, charm, and entice. She lets out enough line to make the catch. She knows her prey--often married men or womanizers--to hold him she must never fully succumb to his strategies, and must be always slightly out of reach. She knows how to make him as crazy as he makes her, maybe even crazier. She can never show need, and because of that, he is driven into a frenzied battle plan designed to break down her defenses and capture her heart. The difficulty with this strategy is not that it doesn't work, because it does, but it's exhausting over any length of time. Why? Because it means living a lie. Remember, to hold on to this type of man, a woman can never let on how much his lack of commitment hurts her, or how much she really cares. She can't even express anger or resentment for ways in which his lack of commitment injures her psyche, because to express that reveals how much he means to her. Of course the married man, unlike the womanizer, does commit, that is until she makes demands or presents an ultimatum that he leave his wife and choose her. Just remember, it's very unlikely that he is going to leave his wife, so be prepared for lonely weekends and holidays.

Of course, the married man feels miserable at home and always tells his lover just how bad it is. If he does decide to leave his family, there is a strong possibility that what he did to his wife he may also do to his lover. So, are they really worth it? Even though they do stimulate intense feelings of vibrancy and the excitement of the forbidden, it's not a good bet to make. There are better ways to find excitement.
